Jasper

Jasper is one of Highkeep's high ranking guards, just a step below Niernen and Shae. He spends a good portion of his position training other guard and patrol dragons, and is one of Niernen's two possible escorts when meeting with ally lairs. He often stands by Shae's side when leading battles against Bristleback or other nearby hostile groups. Raiders tend not to jump on a duo between him and Niernen.

Powerful and proud, Jasper takes his position very seriously, but certainly not in an ambitious way. He's completely loyal to Highkeep's founders and has no desire to be anything higher. Being the first one called for battle is a tiring enough position. Jasper takes pride in rarely losing in any fights, which also highlights his importance to Highkeep as a guard. He's oddly embarrassed by the ones he has lost.

When he's not partaking in his duty as a guard, the Coatl is surprisingly quite lazy! Preferring to lay about eating food in his den during his free time, it's almost hard to believe he's the same dragon that can knock a dragon back simply with a powerful slap of his wings. He spends a lot of his time hanging around Victor and Laia, both of whom he considers to be very close friends. He is also the elder brother of Mara, whom he is quite protective of. Due to his nature as a guard, he, like many in Highkeep, is immediately suspicious of outsiders unless he knows them to be affiliated with the Clan. He is as respectful as he can be in the presence of allies, but often finds it difficult since his job is to essentially be suspicious.
