Beloved Child ~ The Faithful

It was an unlikely partnership. She was born into a hostile world, where only the strongest survived. Lost and alone, she was silently scared of the future. Suddenly, she heard a small voice next to her. It was a fae. Seeing the tiny dragon flitting about made her feel comforted that she wasn't alone. And almost instantly, he became her charge.

And so their journey began. They formed a clan of their own, and traversed the Scarred Wasteland looking for a place to called home. Two nocturnes and an imperial joined them, and then more. Things were looking up for them, but a nagging voice in the guardian's mind told her it was not so.

It was then the illusions and nightmares started. Again and again, there was a voice the called for her to serve the Plaguebringer. Yet she did not want to leave her charge. Conflicted she was, for it was that same voice that decided her name was Barnie. The same voice also told her to change her name to Cnossia. The confused guardian felt very lost. When she felt that the voices were too much, she readied herself to be separated from her charge.

It was her charge that saved her from despair. Gathering his funds, he gave her a new name, and a purpose. "Aiko" she became, meaning "beloved child". She transformed from guardian to fae so that the voices will never bother her again. Since then she lived contentedly with Darlath, but he wanted more. Above all, he wished to understand the growing amount of coatls in the lair.

And she followed, as always.
