Chantilly

Chantilly never chose the life of a thief, the choice was made for him when he fell for a rogue ridgeback who borrowed from his birth clan's beehives. He was meant to have exacted a vicious, bloody vengeance in the name of his clan. For some reason he simply couldn't bring himself to lift a claw against her, and they fled together into the night. They spent the next few years plundering and scamming as many dragons and clans as they pleased.

One day, news of one of Ortolan's old flames reached them through the grapevine of clanless dragons. He'd gone and set himself up a family with some mirror, apparently. Ortolan was desperate to congratulate him, so down south they went. Of course, once they got there the two realized that neither of them knew how to navigate the Southern Isles, or even where the clan was. They split up to search for the clan on foot.

Chantilly returned to the campsite with a crinkled map and a black eye from a centaur who mistook him for a raider. Ortolan returned with a wounded hatchling and a hollow look to her eyes that has haunted him ever since. Together, the three made their way to Speakeasy's new clan. Chantilly's more than happy to consider the clan a new home, especially after adopting the hatchling. The nomadic lifestyle holds less and less appeal each day, and he can tell that Ortolan has her own reasons to stay too, though not the same as his.
