Puck's body trembled as he hid behind the corner of a building. His feathers were fluffed out and charged with electricity. His forepaws flexed as his heart thumped. His eyes were wide and bright, waiting for his target to wander by. Everything was going as planned. Darling waited on the other side of the walkway, perched on a lantern post. Her wings rested, not even moving the slightest so that she wouldn't stand out. Puck's target today was Gabriel. That uptight Skydancer needed to take a moment and relax. Maybe get in a good laugh. Puck's nostrils flared out as he sniffed. Right on time. He could smell Gabriel's scent drawing closer. Soon, he could feel the vibrations of the Skydancer's pawsteps in the air. Puck shifted his hind legs to keep them from falling asleep. His forepaws gripped the rope he held tighter. Just a little more, thought Puck. Gabriel's head emerged into view. His eyes glittered as he focused on the path ahead behind the wolf pelt he wore. Gabriel was walking at a steady pace, unaware of the Coatl in wait for him. His wings were held to his body but not tightly. Now, thought Puck. He nodded his head to Darling. Darling fluttered her wings and squealed as she flew straight at Gabriel's face. "Blargh," spat Gabriel. He staggered back and opened his wings to flap them. His tail lashed side to side as he reared up on his hind paws. His forepaws swatted at Darling but repeatedly missed. Puck seized the opportunity. He pulled on the rope and felt the weight on the other end shift. There was a splash and a surprised gasp from Gabriel. Puck finally peeked his head around the corner of the building and he burst into laughter. Gabriel was drenched. He stood on his rear legs, frozen with eyes wide and feathers plastered to his body. Darling darted to Puck's side and settled on top of his head. She trilled with delight. Then came the all-too-familiar roar from Gabriel, "PUCK!" "Uh-oh," yelped Puck followed by a merry cackle. He ran away and darted through the alleys that provided the main travel routes between the Clan of Burning Fantasies' buildings. Puck could feel the vibrations of Gabriel's pursuit and could hear the angry words thundering from the Skydancer warrior. "Oh come on Gabriel," called Puck, "Everyone knows you need to chill every now and again! I was just helping!" Puck laughed as he ran. He loved the rush. It was just too much fun that he couldn't help it. At last, he heard Gabriel give up the chase. When he was well away from Gabriel, Puck stopped beside a smaller residential building. He looked up at Darling and patted her head. "Well done Darling," he said, "Perfectly executed." Puck reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a paper pad and a pen. "Now let's see... Background  It is a frequent occurrence in the Clan of Burning Fantasies to hear a cry of surprise ring out among the hard working dragons. To know that cry is to know that Puck has struck again. Puck means no harm by his games. He just finds the everyday chores of clan life dreadfully boring. So, he has taken it upon himself to bring smiles and laughter to his clan mates. Even if at times they may not expect the distraction. Puck comes from the Shadow Flight, where the denizens of the Tangled Wood play all the time and practice trickery upon hapless wanderers. He does not like the hurtful tricks though. For Puck, it is a failure on his part to see a participant in his games upset. However at the same time, he can not stand by and watch a dragon so fixated on their work that they forget to smile. Sometimes Dusk has approached him with complaints about his pranks, usually voiced by the Skydancer Gabriel. Gabriel is one of the dragons of the clan that finds Puck's antics the most irritating. Likewise, Puck finds Gabriel's uptight demeanor overbearing and frustrating. Dusk's words may make Puck change his prank target but seldomly does it ever make Puck stop. Most of the time he just shrugs off Dusk with a flippant and cheery farewell. Only to go right back into messing with the others, which has led many to wonder if Dusk's monotone voice isn't being registered by Puck. As such a thing between Fae and Coatl has been recorded Sornieth-wide. Others of the clan dismiss the notion and surmise that Puck does understand what Dusk is trying to say but decides to ignore it. Their reasoning is that Puck has grown up with the Sornieth-wide Draconic being spoken frequently around him, making him fluent enough in it to get by. Out of all of the dragons that Puck pranks, he can not help but mess with Nyx the most. He finds her reactions to be the best and the most hilarious. He will openly admit that he likes her when asked. However deep down there is a worry that keeps him from asking her to go beyond mere friends. He is terrified of being rejected. When Puck is not busy with a prank, he does perform some work around the clan. Due to his affinity with Shadow Flight magic, he is an excellent illusionist that assists with optical illusion traps. These traps are used to help protect the clan from raiding Beastclan. At times, if the traps are overwhelmed and the clan is called to battle then Puck will join in the fray to provide assistance through wards for allies and disorienting spells used against the enemy. 
Darling the Willowmane Deerling Darling is Puck's familiar. She is a mischievous little Deerling that often assists her master in his pranks. She uses her wings to distract whoever the target of the prank is then darts off with shrill cries of merriment. Due to her small size, she is able to hide in most areas that larger dragons can not reach. She does possess an instinctual fear of Veilspun as they are a predator that hunts her species. For the most part though Darling lives a comfortable and fun life with Puck.  Customization Goals |
