Biography

A wanderer from the Lightning flight, nobody is quite sure why Devicelo decided to settle with this clan--but when zie did, zie somehow influenced the history of the clan forever. Zie brought a rudimentary laboratory with zir, and spends most of zir time tinkering with it, trading for more equipment, and performing strange experiments. Cedrift became fascinated by Devicelo as soon as zie arrived, and has become zir devoted mate. He's the only one who seems to truly understand zir, and usually acts as an intermediary when helping zir acquire new equipment or explain to Nizori why Devicelo's section of the cavern is full of blue smoke and tiny flying mice again.

It was Devicelo who sparked Nizori's interest in science, as well as helping other members of the clan discover and develop their own areas of interest. Zie was the one who first proposed the idea of moving the clan from Wind to the Lightning flight, and along with Nizori was instrumental in coordinating and carrying out the plan. However, Devicelo steadfastly refuses to accept any position of leadership within the clan. After Vestus, the clan's founder, was exalted to the Windsinger in a final act of resistance to the clan's change of flights, an informal election was held to determine the clan's new leader. Devicelo "won," but vanished for nearly two weeks, leaving Nizori with the unwanted prize of leadership.
