“sleep is something inescapable... the night sky, the morning clouds, and at the very least everyone dreams. that’s just... how it is.” about wherever oberon goes, moths soon follow. despite this constant companionship, it does little to drive fellow Snow Den inhabitants away (even if a few of the fellow skydancers must restrain themselves from making an early snack of a few particularly interesting companions). as one of the lead story tellers, and a fantastic playwright on his own, it is no overstatement to say oberon is rather popular. despite his role as court jester, he is rather intelligent in his own way. witty and able to charm nearly anyone, oberon spends much of his time sightseeing and assisting anyone in any way possible. much of his time is spent within the community, often watching over hatchlings or welcoming new additions from the Other Side. overall, oberon is well rounded and quick thinking -- he is surely a great addition to the Snow Den. ( “i think you understand -- everyone just wants to be a little bit happier than they are now, don’t you think?” 
“let us speak of warm dreams…” personality if you were to meet oberon, your first thought would be to see him as being cut from the same cloth as merlin. this initial observation, however, could not be further from the truth. despite the "jolly fellow" character he so desperately attempts to project, there is another side to oberon. just as he is full of love, he is equally full of hate. just as he adores stories, he detests those who seek to sully them. in his previous existence -- his original Source -- he detested these things called "humans". forced to walk amongst them, to allow them to ruin his land and his world, to break apart his Mystery and move onto this 'new age'. his hatred burns within him, like the candle that draws far too many disorderly bugs. in the end, really, that's what he is. a man, if you could call him that, made up of a mix of bugs and creatures from the night, assembled together in something vaguely "oberon" shaped, even despite his true name of "vortigern". he is the Lostbelt King, and you should be quick to beware his wicked grin. but even despite this, despite his rage, his hatred, his eternal thirst for revenge, he is not one to revel in the violence. he still offers mercy, if at the last moment, because even beyond the anger he holds, he holds love. love for his fellow people, love for those he mourned, the ones who sacrificed their lives so he could stand here today, love for those he deems worthy of it. and maybe, just maybe, this love he holds hidden so deep within can sprout and reach the surface.
