Leaf

As a hatchling, Leaf dreamed of travelling the realms, exploring, discovering new things, and gathering wisdom for all dragon-kind, and finding her true purpose in scholarship or diplomacy in a far-flung land. She planned to study not just alchemy, but healing and the other sciences, and hopefully one day earn a position in the Oculus of the Eleven, or even as an ambassador to another flight. But with the breakdown of the armistice with Plague, confronted with the reality of life beyond the sheltered boughs of the Behemoth, Leaf began to doubt that she would ever achieve her dream. Pausing her studies, Leaf left the nesting grounds of her youth to roam the outermost reaches of the Viridian Labyrinth, wanting to venture further afield, but unable to regain enough of her youthful optimism; Leaf was too afraid of the -now much less friendly- unknown to take the final leap.

While wandering, trying to imagine a future other than the one she had planned as a hatchling, Leaf found herself ambushed by a herd of defector centaurs, intent on eliminating all dragons from their lands. Forced to fight for her life, she managed to flee the herd, but found herself in territory contested by the Talonok, harried by repeated attacks attempting to drive her away, lost and confused. Fortunately, Emerald, who was foraging nearby, heard Leaf's desperate attempts to defend herself, and swooped in to deter the Talonok's attacks, before quickly guiding them both to safety. As they journeyed deeper into safer territories, bonded by their shared experiences, Leaf and Emerald decided to stick together, and build a clan of their own.

EMERALD

Emerald is Leaf's partner and second in command of the clan. Together they are the clan's main warriors, in charge of defending their territory from incursions by the local Talonok and rouge Centaurs, and teaching the younger members of the clan to defend themselves. In their time spent together, Emerald and Leaf enjoy hunting together, collecting materials for new alchemy projects, and napping curled up together in the tree-tops above their lair.

Litchen and Leaf grew up together in a sheltered nursery under the roots of the Behemoth, where their mutual love of quiet spaces for study or tea-drinking led to them becoming close friends. They regularly meet in a quiet spot in the lair to drink tea and discuss everything from the various logistical issues that need resolving to the potential for alchemical ingredient use in tea-making!

EVERGREEN

Evergreen is Leaf's rebellious oldest daughter, who spends most of her time on courier jobs that let her explore the whole of Sorneith. Leaf is proud of her daughter achieving her dreams, but worries for her safety with the increasing tensions between the flights and rising number of beast-clan attacks. This has been a major cause of conflict in their relationship, as Evergreen finds her overprotectiveness stifling, and Leaf fears that she may leave on a job and never return.

Adopted into the clan as a hatchling, Leaf sees Athena as an adopted daughter, and has taken her under their wing as an alchemy assistant and apprentice. However, Athena and Emerald have always had a more distant relationship due to their nature as Pearlcatcher and Imperial, and Leaf worries that Athena feels less secure in the clan because of it.

ATHENA

The matriarch of the clan, Leaf is a keen alchemist and fighter always looking to expand her knowledge.
