Muffy enjoys perching at the entrance of his lair, a cave situated high on the cliff that boasts a clear view of the Sea of a Thousand Currents and neighboring territories. Here, he lounges in contentment and peace as the sun shines on his scales, with beloved trinkets and treasures piled high around him. However, his life wasn't always so idyllic...

The anomalous magical field surrounding Sunbeam Grotto doesn't faze Muffy - he hails from a remote village at the edge of the Southern Icefield where the air is charged with magical potential. Muffy's former clan was composed of creatures of striking beauty who wished to keep their home isolated from the outside world. Unfortunately, the fear of the unknown controlled all members of the small Snowsquall village, and their fear would end up becoming their downfall.

Contrary to what others may believe this far into the story, Muffy didn't differ in opinion from his clanmates. He never had a desire to explore beyond the safety of his village, and frankly, the exotic lands from storybook tales didn't sound very inviting. What he couldn't stand was the boredom and drudgery of home!

While his clanmates holed up in their lavish dens, content to lounge without nary a word between them, Muffy would trek out to the edge of the continent. The wind was incredibly strong here at the end of the earth - none of his family would be able to join him here without complaint. Forced quiet by the howling, bitter wind, Muffy flexed his wings and chased thoughts he'd never entertain indoors as he stood facing the frigid ocean.

On one fateful day, after many unremarkable visits to his favorite spot overlooking the sea, Muffy spotted a suspicious floe of ice approaching him, that almost looked like...a head bobbing in the water. His cold blood ran colder as he froze in place to consider his options - he alone was in no shape to defeat anything larger than a Wooly Walrus, and this thing looked to be twice the size!

Though his lackadaisical attitude makes for a questionable choice in ambassador, Muffy is indeed Sunbeam Grotto's designated connection with the Ice flight.
