History Created by a scientist trying to make a shapeshifting dragon, Mudbath's DNA is an unholy blend of Bogsneak and swamp kelpie. Though born with draconic looks, her build is unstable and constantly oozing swamp sludge. She needs to absorb another creature's "essence" to maintain her form. A diet consisting mainly of raw Toridae meat led her to growing up resembling a freakish cross between a Bogsneak and a Toridae. It was basically impossible to fit into a proper dragon clan. After escaping her creator, Mudbath lived in the Tangled Wood's shrouded wetlands, spying on dragon clans, curious as to how they got along with each other. She saved a drowning hatchling, but a misunderstanding led to a hunt for a "swamp monster". She was spotted. Word spread through her neck of the woods. She hid in the underground Tangledhome Tunnels for a long time, before she found the oasis near Terraclae. The oasis was the perfect place to meet new dragons, and Mudbath eventually put together that soaking in its waters alongside other dragons could help her maintain her Bogsneak look. She worked with the Ore Station dragons to turn it into a spa. After the Alliance took place, a mated couple from Cloakscreen asked if they could live with Mudbath. She jumped at the opportunity — Taerentym added brambles and berry bushes for that Shadow aesthetic, Zirehnda became the face of the spa, and Mudbath could fade quietly into the background while soaking in the patrons' leftover bathwater, with no nosy questions. All three had a place to belong. |
