With a hoard of equally good insect catchers by his side creeps Flubbs, living up to the name of his species Flubbs is an excellent hunter, however he has started putting those skills to a different use. After growing somewhat bored with the ease of catching his prey of choice he began challenging himself, and what is harder to creep up on than teeny creatures with compound eyes. With no desire to eat them, it originally was a hobby but when the gathering crew found out about his abilities they asked him to join them. Rather reluctant to be relied upon for a steady food supply in the end he said why not, his small collection of frog friends weren’t able to eat all the bugs he was catching so they might as well go to use in the clan.

In addition to his impeccable silence when moving, Flubbs gooey body makes it much easier to trap prey as they get stuck in his large slimy paws. Some find this a little… Off putting seeing as it tends to be rather difficult to wash bugs without them falling to pieces. Flubbs insists it’s non toxic and won’t do you any harm, but he has been given a bug net to try and cut down on the amount of slime covered bugs. Though fellow catchers cannot deny it is very impressive to watch him whip around, slamming his tail down and catching a dragonfly within it. The downside tends to come when he has to be de-twigged after each gathering session from all the foliage he’s been rummaging through. His partner, Ecto, who is the keeper of the insect hoard, tends to be the one who picks him clean.

His fascination with bugs doesn’t stop at just catching them, he also has a small log book where he documents various things, such as time of year, weather, location and other factors so that others know where to look for more desired catches. No one really gets to see them outside of Ecto but he’s also a rather good artist! You’d think it would be difficult to keep the paper clean with his gooey paws but Flubbs doesn’t often let onto the fact that he is very easily able to control what does and doesn’t get covered in slime. You’d think dragons would catch on, seeing as Ecto never has so much as a spec on her, but alas no one is willing to test the theory. Even so, Flubbs might just let whoever tried get covered in slime anyways, he enjoys the personal space is gives him.

Flubb’s familiar is also very good at catching bugs, but is rarely allowed on hunts due to the fact it either eats them, scares them or kills them. Not the most delicate touch… He’s attempting to train her so she would be more of an aid than a hindrance during gathering but you know how the saying goes about herding floracats. They do in their downtime have a very fun game where the two basically stalk each other, Flubbs attempts to sneak around while lighting the little bulb on his head and then his familiar attempts to track him and catch it. In reverse he has to catch her tail. Impressively the score is completely tied between them.
