Sornieth is not kind to the fae, who, when they interact with them at all, are little more than small whimsical pets with annoying voices to dragons of other kinds.
This individual lived in the service of a Guardian for a very long while, and then he had an epiphany, committed what he does not believe was a murder, and followed the leylines away. He does not talk about that time. There would not be a use in it, and he knows (all too well, in the anticipatory way of a slave) the disconnect between his kind's kinmind and others.

Although... there are persons who can bridge that disconnect. Imperfectly, but well enough to stave off the melancholy that would otherwise follow any captive-raised fae who has tasted freedom.

Having come to live in the ruins with her, he numbers stars and timorously, though with increasing confidence, relates what they say to his new, strange, free flight. They may lose clutches to scarcity or to predators and thieves, but they have them, he and she, they two, who should not.
