Biography

History of The Chaos Alliance
By Chaucer
It is not fully known how many scholars were truly behind the Null element movement, as the group scattered throughout the world, seeking a place where their passion could bloom without interruption from the outside world of non-believers. Their first settlement was recorded in Shifting Expanse, where they promptly got forced out of. Then, the Scarred Wasteland. The twisted, unpredictable land of despair who's denizens had greater interest in scientific progress and lesser moral values than anywhere else. Yet even the infectionists of Wyrmwund were surprised at this group's anarchic attitude. They called them "The Chaos Alliance". And this nickname followed them around the wasteland.
It was the Wyrmwund itself where The Chaos Alliance noticed orcarosite's existence for the first time. Their researchers were fascinated by its abilities, and it was them who identified and described this phenomenon in detail after the changes done by the introduction of the plague element into the area. Supposedly it was also them who stood behind the founding of the town which was officially named after the gemstone.
1.
For years, their agents observed the enclosed civilization from the inside and gladly supported their disconnection from the world untouched by the pink coloration, while their workers experimented in the labs of the plague's heart with no limits.
The orcarosite has one special ability that distinguishes it from other magic holding stones, and that is its long lasting magic preservation combined with binding onto some organic materials, such as bones and keratin. This allows biological entities to increase their magical storage capacity simply by existing in the proximity of this stone, as well as improve regeneration speed of some types of body tissue.
In the early stages of research, the Chaos Alliance noticed the stone tends to suppress use of magic in offspring of exposed individuals, and affects genetics not only in pigmentation, but also in brain development. Upon discovering this, the alliance took a drastic drift towards their most ambitious goal - the null element.

2.
They experimented on juveniles, hatchlings, and eventually unhatched eggs, until they reached what they believed was a dragon hatched with concentration of orcarosite so high and genetic code so unstable, that the gemstone's magical properties completely blocked out the dragon's natural element. That's when Arpaad was born. Sornieth's supposed first surviving hybrid, half ridgeback, half gaoler, with pale white eyes and non-assertive, impersonal demeanour. Of course we later verified that he was none of those things.
The attempt to deform the elemental dragon, work of the deities, became personal. It was in the best interest of all elements to stop this abominable activity. And that is exactly what the Chaos Alliance desired. They deemed themselves untouchable. To the public, their faces remained blank. Nothing but magical decoys that could disappear whenever needed.
The only medium, Arpaad, was but their tool that the dragons would relate to and deities had no power over. All that was left was one last step. Release of the Shade, the feared entity that feeds on Sornieth's magic. In a world swarmed by the Shade, dragons without magic will thrive.
That was their goal.

3.

When the alliance found out the dragons living in the location of orcarosite mines reached out to Plaguebringer, with request to be recognized as a clan, they had to interfere. It would mean they will no longer remain isolated, and outsiders could return and find out about the precious gemstone, which the alliance wanted only for themselves.
They manipulated the folk into believing their chosen leader was turned feral by orcaosite exposure, after she left the town to negotiate with Plaguebringer. In truth, she was captured and infected with a parasitic fungus developed by the alliance to cause serious damage to one's cognitive functions. Sigrid, the imperial who was supposed to become a clan leader, was turned into a rabid beast, and released to terrorize Orcarosite.

4.
After this incident, information about the Chaos Alliance spread in the wind and deities themself commanded all their activities to be brought to a halt. The alliance was panicking.
Their last move was the Great Release. An operation with the goal of releasing the captured Shade from Fortress of Ends. With Wyrmwund officials on their back, they captured Orcarosite by force and initiated the operation in a rush. Unfortunately for Sornieth, they succeeded. The damage that was done, was done. The wound that Chaos Alliance left on the dragons of Orcarosite was promptly filled in by the pink. There was no plan for what happens after the Shade is freed. Ironically, it was the workers who took manners in their own claws, and dissembled the group from the inside of the facility. Soon after the building had mysteriously collapsed, leaving just the tunnel network spiralling into the deep abandoned mines.

5.
Soon, the name "Chaos Alliance" was only remembered for the rare occasion of two deities coming together in cooperative manner order to shut down the movement. Those who abandoned the mission of the null element, but burned with passion for their research of orcarosite, reconnected and formed a new team under the control of the recovered empress Sigrid, chosen leader of the pink Orcarosite denizens, who no longer takes orders from anyone but Plaguebringer herself. Unbreakable friendship formed between her, who broke out of the curse of the Fiend, Sparrow, the failed experiment that was brought back from exile to be exterminated, but was rescued by Sigrid, and Arpaad, the ridgeback mistaken for a non elemental hybrid dragon. While they each pursued what they are the best at, their bond created a new clan which finally opened Orcarosite to the world.
