Hunger has been an age old friend of Vortex's. It follows him wherever he goes, always taunting him, reminding him of the past he so desperately wishes to forget. It reminds him of his sins, of the people who died at his claws, of the screams of fear and terror, and the pleads. It reminds him of her, who he so heartlessly killed, and of the little hatchling, and his last, heartbreaking whisper of, "Papa...?"

But, now Vortex has a place where he belongs, where there are others like him. And yet... it doesn't feel like home to him, it feels empty, as if there's something missing. And, then 'she' brings back Atari. And, everything clicks for him, like he has found something important of his that he lost, and it starts to feel like home.

He is a sinner, and a murderer. He knows that, accepts that, but just once more in this cursed life of his, he wants to love. To give all of him, to be what he never got a chance to be. Something inside whispers that he does not truly love Atari, and that she is only a way for him to lessen his guilt. Vortex ignores it.
