Some dragons find that all hatchlings have too much energy, but even compared to his clutchmates, Spirit was the most energetic, constantly jumping around, tapping his feet, and banging on anything he could find, the louder the better! As he grew into a young dragon, his banging got even louder, and most other members of the Dolomite Clan started avoiding him. He tried stopping, but it never worked for long. If he wasn’t banging around, after a while, he felt tense, almost itchy. Then he would retreat to a deep part of the caverns were he had amassed a collection of pots, boxes, metal trays and some good sticks. Despite making him lonely at times, the banging was such fun!

That is were Ehrde found him. Ehrde was a rock singer spending some time with the Dolomite Clan before his first concert, but didn’t have a full band yet. When he heard what others called “that racket”, he was entranced. What a sense of rhythm in an untrained youth! He had to convince him to take part in his concert!

Spirit was more confused than anything at first. Ehrde liked his banging? People actually wanted to listen to him? It took some convincing, but he finally agreed to give it a try. Ehrde was not a drummer, but he did his best to give Spirit some music schooling before the concert and help him get used to an actual drum kit. On the night of the concert, Spirit was still a bit uncertain, but he had such a blast! And for a change, everybody loved his banging!

After the concert, he wanted to learn more, so he decided to travel the world looking for teachers. He also learned that rock musicians are supposed to have a certain “look” which is just about the opposite of his style. So he loves meeting people, telling them he’s a drummer and seeing their surprise. But despite discovering rock music and drum kits, sometimes he still gets the urge to retreat into a deep cave and bang on pots and pans.
