"Isn't it so lovely out here?" he asked. "It feels kind." his voice sounded light and sweet, like strained honey. Ambrosi had always smiled rather big for a dragon, with all of his teeth on full display. "I don't know how something feels kind, but I guess I love you because you feel things that I don't," Astraea reasoned. She looked at him. Inside, his eyes looked a little cracked or empty, like a bowl you dropped but didn't have the heart to get rid of. Spirals enveloped Ambrosi's vision as the grass began to turn. 'This grass will burn in the folly of technology...' he thought. 'May be best to burn it now and save the trouble.' He thought of the sound of the flames licking the dirt and thought better of it. "Well, you know spring is my favorite season," he stuttered, plastering on a grin. 'Fire, fire, fire, cogs and wheels...' "Such perfect weather all the time!" he finished. 'Steam, smoke, embers.' Flowers began to melt and circle in his eyes and before he could stop himself, he grabbed one. The ripping of roots filled his ears. Cold, woody stems were suffocated in his grasp. "Well jeez, I know you like to pick the flowers, but leave some for somebody else!" Astraea laughed. "You're such a weirdo." Ambrosi forced himself to lose his grip. "They're for uh..for you!" he said shakily, thrusting the petals full-force towards her face." Astraea only laughed. -Story by Ambervale
