Orpheus longs to see his city restored to its golden age, when aurumancers were lauded as heroes. To this end, he has been working with the High Priestess Maria to shape his raw talent for gold sorcery into true skill in the absence of the once-celebrated College of Aurumancy, which has been largely abandoned since the fall of the Kjallan royal house.

Despite his lofty goals, he has a quiet, reserved nature and prefers to learn through studying the old texts rather than with the 'unnatural' magical experiments that Maria insists he undertake.

Water, carbon, calcium ect. How odd. It reads almost like something...biological in nature.

I have informed Maria that I will be halting this experiment permanently. I will preserve this manuscript only for the sake of knowledge.

I threatened to burn this paper. She laughed in my face. Of course she would have other copies. How could I be so stupid?

The experiments will continue as planned. I have almost perfected the technique now. It is starting to move..."
