Assistant at Goldmortar Library

Introverted | Skittish | Curious | Creative | Disorganized

Spindle has often been likened to that of a newborn skira- awkward, nervous, and tall for his species, he's easy to spot skittering amongst the shelves at Goldmortar Library. A library assistant, Spindle spends most of his time putting away books, cleaning tables, and timidly asking patrons to pay their late fees. He has a sleep disorder and is perpetually disheveled and underfed. He's often seen working diligently in the dead of night and napping amongst the books during the day.

Spindle can be quite sweet when given the chance, but this side of him is buried deep beneath his social anxiety. A hidden romantic, Spindle's favorite books are collections of poetry, especially on love. He idly writes his own poems in the margins of his work ledgers, but makes sure to cross them out before anyone notices. On one occasion, Falfus read his work by mistake- he continues embarrassing Spindle by proclaiming that his writing is wonderful, and insisting that the Nocturne has a poet's soul!

Having only left his birth clan a year prior, Spindle is still adapting to living alone, and he writes letters home often. He sends more letters than he receives. His family loves him and all, they just want him to develop some courage! Though he is the oldest of several siblings, he's always been the least confident of the group- his little sisters used to protect HIM from bullies. When settling down to sleep Spindle makes grand plans to finally express himself to his coworkers... only to tense up immediately when around others. Ah well.

» He comes from a family of farmers and is a county boy at heart. Is surprisingly not afraid around animals because of this; it's other sentient creatures that make him nervous.

» He sleeps in weird, uncomfortable-looking positions in the book stacks. He's been mistaken for dead more than once.
