Known around Home as a brilliant scholar and researcher, Zavebe was born in the Tangled Wood but grew up here at Home. He can be a difficult dragon to get to know, often coming across as prickly and a bit full of himself. Deeply interested in the weird, wonderful world in which he lives, Zavebe is passionate about uncovering mysteries and delving into the unknown, quickly emerging as a gifted young anomalist - interested in everything from the Shade to unidentified flying objects, he's a scholar of everything weird.
- Biography
Zavebe was born to a Clan residing in Murkbarrow Close, at the western edge of the Tangled Wood. Like many other young dragons at Home, he is an orphan of the many inter-Flight skirmishes that plague border areas of most Flights. He was brought to Home while he was still a hatchling, and grew up here in Light. Although those closest to him might point out that something of Shadow remains in him, considering he can be rather capricious and has a prideful streak a mile wide, Zavebe says he is proud to consider himself a Light dragon.
- Life at Home
Zavebe is an excellent student and typically excels in his classes. He is an above-average magician, but he is truly distinguished as a natural scholar and researcher. He has a logical mind and is excellent at thought problems and riddles, finding it very easy to parse complex information. However, Zavebe also has a one-track mind, and he finds it extremely difficult to focus on things he's not interested in, often forgoing his magical studies to put extra time into his work for anomalistics professor Sefirah's classes. He is the type of dragon who values an image of himself as a naturally talented student, and will often prefer not to do something he is unsure about altogether rather than accept the risk his best work might not be good enough. When he's not in class, Zavebe can often be found chatting with his professors or spending time with a handful of close friends in the library. He rarely attends social functions, but most dragons (those in his Hall, at least) know that he can always be counted on for help with homework and that he usually gives excellent advice.
- Relationships
Not the friendliest dragon around, Zavebe often comes across as selfish or conceited to those who don't know him well. He is typically lost in his own head and rarely thinks about putting in the effort to make friends. That being said, the other dragons in Niflheimr Hall know him as the trustworthy and reliable sort, and he's always high on the list of Hallmates to go to for advice when there's a problem that needs solving. He's perfectly capable of being cordial and even amiable, he's simply a very introverted dragon, and the fact that he's always been a bit full of himself doesn't exactly help matters. Zavebe's best friend is fellow anomalistics student Eliezer, and the two can often be found discussing theories or scheming about possible trips to the Hewn City or Arcane.
- Personality
Zavebe is irreverent, sharp as a tack, and most frequently single-mindedly focused on his studies. He holds little as sacred, and has very little patience for established rules or conventions. He was heavily considered for Helheim Hall before eventually being placed in Niflheimr Hall - the sole reasoning for which is that, even though he talks about breaking rules all the time, he rarely goes through with it. He is proud and well-aware of his own intelligence and skill, and though he can come across as arrogant, he's not the type to put others down or insist on his own superiority (although it is true that he frequently doesn't realize when he's bragging). He can be very secretive and loathe to talk much about himself, and even those dragons who have known him for years might find they don't actually know much about him at all. Zavebe is definitely eccentric and can be a bit of an acquired taste, but most dragons around Home know he's also a dragon well worth listening to.
