With the great dragons death the fight died down, but the very earth was split from the battle and roared his death throes for him. The great tumult battered against this ancient dragons broken body, as a cascade of rain and an upheaval of ice from the shattered glacier washed his body into the depths of the sea. The fjord ran deep, carved for uncounted lifetimes by the glacier and no life carpeted its depths and as his body sunk into the sediment, it was finally, wholly still. And there his body would lay until the earth below subsumed him. Consumed what little he had left to give as time eroded the rest. Bones and scales and scutes welcomed into the embrace of the earth, and in her ever loving hold, transformed him. A thousand, million years endlessly rolling by, a thousand, million tons endlessly rendering him anew. Sculpted and carved him into stone and into rocks and into crystalline gems and into geodes. Ground and beaten and born anew into the great darkness below. Until the ground split once more. Echoing a tumult only the earth remembers.

And he rose, once more, mighty.
