Biography

rOvXrKe.png Revered as a deity among the strange amphibious habitants of the secluded fishing town of Innsmouth, Dagon is worshipped as ruler of the Deep Ones, a mythical race of immortal creatures said to live in the dark trenches of the oceans. It is said that one day, Father Dagon, Mother Hydra, and their multitude of monstrous offspring will rise to the surface and take over the land, bringing with them all the treasures of the sea to those who serve them, and enslavement to those who refuse. So fervent is the belief in this prophecy that a cult formed, and The Esoteric Order of Dagon became the most powerful governing body in Innsmouth.

Outsiders are not welcomed - though few attempt to visit - as the unnatural-looking villagers and their weird customs are mistrusted by nearby communities, and the town is shunned by almost everyone. Rumours are rife about what happens in the dark streets and dank houses of Innsmouth, and the genealogy of the town's dragons is discussed at great length by elders who remember the days before Dagon's church was founded. Over the years it has been noted that frog-like, protuberant eyes, fishy scaly skin, slack mouths and misshapen heads have become common features of Innsmouth inhabitants, and many believe these to be results of interbreeding between the townsfolk and the Deep Ones.

Waiting for the day when Dagon will rise from the black waters to usher in his rule over land and sea, The Esoteric Order continues to gather every month on Devil's Reef off the shore of Innsmouth, performing strange rituals and chanting bizarre hymns. Mystery and danger surrounds this secretive town, and only one dragon so far has been able to piece together the odd goings-on...
