Biography

firetop.png
"I don't think it matters what sets your soul alight, so long as it burns brightly!"
lightningbottom.png

Chariot doesn't talk much about her childhood, simply because there isn't much there to tell. Her hatching was a shock to her fire clan, sure (pun not intended) but hardly regarded as something terrible. Her blacksmith parents loved her dearly, but when their child's interests grew into something that home could not provide, they enrolled her in a school within the Shifting Expanse.

What she really made a name for herself through was her ingenuity. The coatl's strength was and always had been her passion for invention and mechanical advancement, causing many of her peers and mentors to consider her a true Lightning dragon through and through. Chariot, however, still considered her heart to be more furnace than conductor; she just had a couple extra skills at her disposal to make use of!

Her dual elemental magic meant that she could utilize her fire to enhance her work. Little contraptions and machines that she could power with her own breath saved both time and resources. The smelting and forging of parts was a more meticulous and intimate process than that of other dragons and it showed brilliantly in her work. Sparring could be quite fun, too-- fireballs that essentially doubled as electro balls made combat twice as entertaining, and her classmates would sometimes pit her against old robots and golems for glorious "battles to the death" (this wasn't really allowed. She and her buddies may or may not have gotten suspended once or twice in the early years.)

Alas, she would not remain here forever. Chariot was thankful for all that she had absorbed, and sending her to learn from the Stormcatcher's children was one of the greatest acts of kindness her parents had ever given her... but it could only do so much. Throughout her life she had always wondered why she was what she was, and that was a question that could only be answered by a journey of her own. She eventually left to study texts from the neighboring Light flight, wanting to see if records of other dual-natured dragons existed in their own libraries.

There, she met with the rest of the Remnants of Harmony. A rather exciting first impression as the group was being terrorized by Luminax at the time. Chariot used one of her nifty steampunky trinkets to distract the emperor and in doing so, saved their lives. She had (humbly) expected to be regarded a hero, but... not to be treated like an old and long-lost friend. Oh. Ohhh. Well, that explained a lot! Of course! She'd been training all her life to find GOD!

Neat.

ABOUT CHARIOT

  • Is enthusiastic, experimental, and relentless. She's not one to quit on an idea that caught her fancy until she gets it right.
  • Functions as the faux-tank of her party in battle. Chariot isn't much of a fighter, but her armor sure gives off that impression-- it will absorb hits from the enemy and convert it into stored energy, which she'll release at just the right moment to stun her assailant.
  • It's not uncommon to find her bright golden feathers flecked with soot, especially around her face and forepaws.
  • She and Fissure are best friends!
  • Acts sort of like a big sister figure to Havaska.
