Orchid had been having little to no success with her suture experiments after 8. They had all turned out as failures; horrific amalgamations of fabric and flesh, that were quickly and cleanly disposed of. Orchid never stopped trying, however. A loss of a subject was a sacrifice gained for the Shade, after all.

Subject 86 was a curious case. Formerly a dragon named Selenite, she'd been an inorganic subspecies of fae known as "jewelry box fae." When the living trinket had fallen into the cult's talons, Orchid decided to take a shot at transmuting an already inorganic creature into a suture subject.

This turned out to be a success. Although remnants of silver scales still poked through the fabric here and there, the jewel fae's hard, shiny exterior had turned soft and plush. Orchid now had another doll for her collection, and a seamstress to assist her. All she had to do was pull the strings and watch the little puppet fae stitch away.
