Biography

Xe doesn't remember anything from xir old life. The last thing xe remembers is being drawn out by Edgeforcer, who claimed that xe was being brought to a better flight, one with a perfect deity and in which xe would never be exalted. Xe was...a Mirror...back then. Xe doesn't remember. As soon as xe was brought in, xe was given a new name as xir soul was given over to the Endmaker. From there, the Edge Flight did incomprehensible things to xir, turning xir into the beast you see today. Barely recognizable as a sentient dragon anymore, xe's essentially just a mass of edgeslime taking vaguely Spiral-like form. Occasionally, amongst the dripping and sizzling of liquid, you can almost swear you can hear xir begging for help.

Together with Ellendalicon, xe gave birth to Endmaker's perfect vessel. Since Ellendalicon was sacrificed without warning despite supposedly being held in the highest esteem, this makes whatever aspect of Corruptium remains concerned for xyr own safety. Of course, whatever part of xem remains sentient has considered that perhaps xe would have preferred if the Edge Flight's experiments had just killed xem, rather than the pathetic excuse for life xe maintains. The only reason xe hasn't gotten "exalted" is that Endmaker said not to. She specifically called everyone out for sacrificing their children, including the artificially created ones. If you're going to make a whole entire new person out of edgifying someone, you need to take care of that person, guys. That's just basic decency. Even creatures of destruction and despair have standards.

That gene combo plus the description in xir bio.... deliciously unsettling.

There were so many good outfits but I ended up choosing Corruptium because dang xe's working that Sometimes simple is simply perfect!

Now this... this is beautiful. Those protowings were made for this derg! The coloring of the body fits the wings' fingers, and likewise between the membrane of the original wing and the protowings'. I love xir lore. It's super unsettling, but keeping most of the details vague or straight up not mentioning some parts really lends to the horror of it.

Omg Corruptium is so creepy! Xe reminds me of the Nowhere King on Centaurworld. I love how your eye is first drawn to the mask, and then your attention travels down xir body you begin to realize something is very wrong with this dragon. Only two pieces of apparel are used and yet somehow this dragon is perfectly complete.

On kind of the opposite end of the spectrum, Corruptium's dark colors and themes are also really gorgeous to me. The dark, dull reds and purples contrast Xe's golden mask of the ruby ghastcrown gorgeously, and I love your use of the protowings.

I have a weakness for demonic, daunting, and malicious Spirals, so I don't know what to say about Corruptium other than that this dragon is perfection.
Storrie wrote:
Oh wow, I got lost there for awhile in the absolute wonder that is your hib den. Gorgeous dragons all around! But I seriously have to go with Corruptium... xe is magnificent! The ghastcrown flows perfectly into the proto wings which match xir colors and genes to a T. -chefs kiss- Menancing and beautiful!

I absolutely love Corruptium! Subtly matchy, fantastic apparel options, low-key but well done - I love xir whole look!

Corruptium is absolutely incredible. Xir ominous backstory really had me reading on the edge of my seat. I'm always a big fan of dragons who have less apparel, but still look just as appealing as those who have lots, and xe seemed to absolutely take the cake with that one!
Canio wrote:
Corruptium! I love the rust and oilslick together and the ghastcrown makes for a properly eerie look.
Larifari wrote:
I am thriving, all your edgy dragons are so cool. The "fleshy" looking genes and color combination is giving this dragon an even stronger edge vibe - honestly, good for xem. The piece of apparel fits perfectly, too!
Blackvine wrote:
Xe might be the sorrowful remants of an edgified mirror, but xer some very pretty sorrowful remants. The wings and mask fit together weirdly well.

What a cool goopy dragon! I love the colors here.

xir lore is some of my favorite I've read so far. Can't help but feel bad for xem.

Lore

flickerheart wrote:
It’s a bit funny how fast things can change. Corruptium had a normal life for the longest time, but it was all ripped anyway from xir in a matter of seconds. Xe never expected to be sold on the Auction House— who would expect to be sold away by your family and flight? Corruptium lived in a small Lightning clan- not that xe could remember. Xir life is a mix of the few moments that xe can still faintly recall. Corruptium barely thinks the way xe is now. Experiment after experiment reduced xir to no more than a sludge-like form of pure edge, xir only goal being to create a vessel for Endmaker, though it was not much of a goal and more of a purpose.

Xir life is a mysterious maze of unknown ends, but Corruptium only has access to a few doors into the past. There are some memories of things that (of all things) xe would really like to have not remembered. Mostly experiments. Even anything about xir past life- because now Corruptium is just a shell of what xe used to be. Xe wishes that xe didn’t know- it would be so much easier to forget the past instead of constantly being forced to think about it and the trauma and pain that came along with it. Sometimes, Courrptium even wishes that xe was mindless. If no one could help xir, at least xe wouldn’t have to care anymore.

Most dragons see xir for what’s on the outside, a mutation or a monster. Simply a pile of slime that occasionally takes on the fabricated form of a dragon. Some dragons swear that when it’s quiet and they’re alone, they can hear Corruptium begging for help. Maybe they see the face of a dragon, the horrifying, mutilated appearance of what once was. Maybe they’re telling the truth, but those who have never seen it will pass it off as lies for attention, or simple delusions and hallucinations. For Corruptium there is no past, and the future is a vast expanse that xe can barely comprehend. Xir purpose of bringing forth Endmaker’s vessel has been served— and that was xir only goal in life. Not that piles of slime are really supposed to have goals— but then again, xe is also supposed to be mindless and though xe’s very close, xe isn’t quite all the way there. That’s a problem, but not one that can’t be dealt with.
