Biography

She believes in "edge" in the sense of literal sharp edges. As in, licking blood off of the end of a knife that just got slid into someone's back as soon as they turned it, preferably literally, but she's okay with metaphorical backstabbing too. Her main hobby and philosophical stance is the infliction of pain as a mechanism to show the dominance of her, and by extension, Endmaker, who she assumes shares her motives because what else would a goddess of Edge do? She's good at gathering information, but isn't really seen as that useful by most of the Edge Flight since she's more focused in gathering dirt on her nominal allies for future betrayal strategic usage than gathering information that would be more useful, like how far along Distorticon and pals are in mounting an attack or sightings of Endmaker in the Tangled Wood. BadVibes accepts her with the goal of calling out "traitors", with the acknowledgment that about half of her reports are spite-fueled nonsense. But hey, if he casts out an innocent dragon or two, who cares? They can get more.

At first glance, you would see Strife as just another dragon, just another edge in the crowd. You would be wrong. She is cutthroat and brutal like no other, and her quick rise to power within Endmaker’s clan was no coincidence, nor a strange twist of fate. She pushed out another dragon to do it, and did not, has not, and will never regret it for even a moment. He had been weak and she was (and is) strong. Most dragons who are mean, or bad, or edgy have something beneath the surface, even if it’s just a drop of kindness pushed down deep into their heart, but not Strife. She left her home because they had tried to force some of that kindness into her, but she’s cruel through and through, and never regrets her actions. She never feels remorse or empathy. The only two things she cares about in life are herself and the all-encompassing power of the Endmaker.

And if working towards one of those goals helps another, then so be it. She had been looking for ways to rise in the ranks from the moment she set foot in Endmaker’s clan, even before she had been officially accepted into it. So when another new inductee confided in her that he didn’t think the other deities the non-edge dragons worshiped were all that bad, she didn’t hesitate to report him. But she couldn’t just announce that at any old time. No, this was information to be coveted, to be used. When the clan held a meeting to discuss recent successes a few days later, and when she noted that the other new dragon was absent, she knew the time had come. She brought it up almost casually, levering herself into the conversation with a different topic, before diverting expectations with the news. When she saw the outrage bristling through the crowd, and the gratitude in their eyes (unspoken, of course. This is a clan of edge, after all) she knew she had succeeded.

She was promoted the very same day the other newbie was humiliated and exiled, and the thrill of that power was the best thing she had ever felt. Her old family, her old clan, they had never appreciated her. But here, now? Her true talent, her true worth had finally been seen. She knew, then, that this trading of secrets and information was her calling, would be her way to help Endmaker. She asked for the job of her dreams, and with her newfound status within the clan, she got it instantly. She is a spy now, either watching or infiltrating clans near and far, bringing back shiny tidbits of information. She will go anywhere across Sornieth, providing the Endmaker desires it. And everywhere she goes, Strife leaves her namesake in her wake, even in the most subtle of ways. If she leaves a clan and the effects of her work are noticed only years later, still she will be pleased, her edgy nature always satisfied momentarily when she sees another living thing suffering.

Within the darkness of the cave was a huge dilemma. Dark-scaled dragons gathered around a thick flat stone that represented a long table, in order to discuss the conflict. Their disgust for the different dragon flights of the land were heavy. Every time one of the dragons would laugh, it was mocking a deity. They never desired to heed the threats of the deities whenever they’d spat out their names in vain or laughed at them; they wanted to follow Endmaker’s command instead, and if sacrifice is what it took, that’s what they’d take.

One of the dragons spoke up, lifting his head up with pride when he chuckled. “You should’ve seen how Endmaker told us to take over another dragon’s lair! At first, we all doubted her command, especially because they had more dragons than us, but boy were we wrong! They were all weak, you should have seen their faces when we kicked them out!”

“See? This is why Endmaker is a better leader than the lot of those god-like eleven, trust me.” Another cackled. They had a lack of sympathy for all the deities have done to this world, flourishing it with life and beauty; the followers of Endmaker took it to their advantage. They could care less. Strife, took the attention to this, listening carefully to what the cruel lot had to say.

“Edge Flight is much greater! Even much more powerful! Endmaker’s command led us to victory, not homelessness.” A few more in the background joined in the conversation under the cave’s roof, giving sneers and laughter. Strife began to join in on the colloquy, but added some more topics to share.

“I also do hate the system. Probably because most of the dragons mention that they want to be together in peace and harmony, but instead they decide to divide in groups because that’s considered ‘fitting’. Although, I have heard some of our clan don’t enjoy joking about the deities. They say it brings bad luck.” The soldier mentioned, with a poisoned tongue; she knew what betrayal to the clan would cost. “Oh, really?” Then, at that moment, the dragons spoke hastily to solve this situation, which they did not find that important, and ended to a conclusion quite easily.

“Let’s just teach them a lesson, then.” One hissed, with murderous intention behind his glossy, dark red eyes. Clearly, others were also into this idea, praising the one that spoke with excitement. “Let’s do it, there’s no room for useless traitors in this clan, is there?”

Is this an unconventional pick for your lair?

Yk what it doesn't matter I just love her so much. Strife is a super cool name, and that thylacine is perfection!!! It goes well with the sharp metal apparel you've chosen for her! Overall she's got a lovely gray color scheme!

Let's kick things off with Strife! You have such a strong lair aesthetic, especially within each tab, and wow Strife blew me away. She's dressed so neatly, it really makes me think of automatons and her industrial vibe is pretty cool. I especially love how well her genes go with her outfit, all polished steel and she just screams "danger". I love me some good edge and she has more edge than a knife drawer.

Strife stood out to me from the rest of the Edgy dragons! She looks like a literal chainsaw, like she could curl up into a ball and spin rapidly at people. I REALLY love how the little bits of blue apparel and the brown from Thylacine are tied together in the tail segment piece! Also, antlers and scars are always awesome.

The first and only non-ancient on the list. I can't help it your ancients are so unique and pretty ;-; However. Strife here gives all of them a run for their money. She looks brutal and intimidating, and her lore backs it up perfectly. It makes sense her lore centers around literal edge when she looks sharp enough to cut glass. The use of the tail segments to match the color of the thylacine brings her whole look together so well.

Strife is a gorgeous dragon. The contrast between her colours and apparel is miraculously eye catching. I'm loving the lore as well; her cruelty appeals to me. I got a soft spot for some dragons with bad morals >:p she'd fit perfectly in my warren..

Strife is super cute, I just really enjoy how spiky she is. I really love the way you've combined multiple aparel sets to build a really cohesive monochromatic look for her. And the thylacine on top is just *chefs kiss*
