Biography
Tanuki History by TheLoversMask Tanuki are a beastclan generally living their goofy little lives hidden in the Gladeveins, disguising as other beastclans and sometimes even dragons in order to remain undetected and thus live peacefully. They are somewhat fickle and easily distracted things, a penchant for tea and parties and excuses to partake in both of those things being nearly universal traits among every Tanuki, though some are more capable of being serious than others. Tanuki are skilled, first and foremost, at disguising. Whether that be changing their appearance to be a centaur or a centerpiece on the table, Tanuki are uncontested in their abilities to turn into anything, though if they disguise as any one thing for too long, they risk being unable to transform at all again. Tanuki who are skilled at magic outside of transformation are called danuki, and they are treated with much respect (or, as much respect as a trickster spirit can muster) among Tanuki clans. Specifications for the Tanuki subspecies are as follows: Breed: Tundra (most common), though lore permits any species of dragon with feathers or fur (Skydancers, Coatl, Gaolers, Pearlcatchers, Wildclaws, imperials if you somehow get one) Flight: Nature exclusive Genes: All of the listed genes are disallowed: metallic, alloy, iridescent, shimmer, keel, opal, capsule, and primaries/secondaries with accent colors that aren't fade/blend or swirl/marbled (for instance: no pin/trail, no lion/nox, etc). Colors: At least two colors in the brown (cinnamon-copper) range, acceptable other colors vary... (Read More) |

A Chance Encounter

You walk along the shores of a black river lit up by pretty paper lanterns. Crickets chirp in the distance while sweet incense fills your nose as you make your way past the many stalls that line this busy night market. Dragons bustle to and fro along the riverside as they buy and sell all manner of goods.
As you make your way through the market, you walk past a curious yet kind-looking dragon who sits on a worn leather chair outside a stall that smells of sandalwood and exotic spices. He has been humming an enchanting and somehow familiar tune while writing down notes in his ledger. He looks up and greets you, "Hello, hello! Welcome to the Golden Night Market. Please, sit down and have some hot tea!"
He gets up and pours you a small cup of purple tea from a beautiful glazed kettle and directs you to sit in his chair. After making yourself comfortable, you bring the warm cup to your face and breathe in it's aroma. You smell notes of herbs that you can't quite put your finger on. Sage, perhaps? You take a sip and find it's delicious - honey and hibiscus! You take another sip.
The dragon continues, "My name is Firdaus, but my friends call me Fir... And oh, haha!" He's interrupted by a head bump from a bright orange and white striped cat who lets out an extremely loud, "Mmmmrrrrraaaaooooww?" Fir chuckles, "This is my tabby named Frumpkin! He loves snuggles and pets, so feel free to pet him as much as you want. Oh, it looks like he's warming up to you just fine! I think I may be replaced soon, hehehe."
