When Eirwyn was alone one stormy night, he was ambushed by a hoard of hostile centaurs, many of which were armed and angry and assumed he was one of the dragons that had destroyed part of their home. Fleeing further and further away from where he knew, he cornered himself in a dense part of the forest with nowhere to go, and just as he felt his life was over...Sage jumped down from the treetops and shielded him. There was more intimidation than fighting, and after it was all over, Eirwyn asked this starry tundra who he was, and learned his name was Sage. He had been wandering for a while, and was looking for a clan to offer his protection to just as his many ancestors did. Eirwyn gladly took him in, and ever since Sage has been close to Eirwyn. He looks to Sage as his own adopted son, and Sage looks to him as his guardian. Loyal to those he protects, brave, and always willing to take a blow for others, Sage is one of the most selfless dragons Eirwyn has ever known--though he hopes that won't lead him to an early death. His true father, Spirit, had the powers of a druid, and Sage also inherited powers of his own. His are different from his father's, however, in that he can seemingly not only camouflage against things in the night, but seemingly appear out of thin air. He can make himself invisible and appear transluscent like a ghost for a spell, and then leap out from the shadows into the light in an ambush that no one sees coming. Because of this potent power, he is seen as a rogue by most of the Gardeners, and is often sent to scout areas that are too dangerous to send a full army or other dragons to. That way, he can gather intel in relative secrecy to bring back to the Gardeners, and many don't even know Sage was there.
