Biography

qGvme7J.png Spirit
In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.

Spirit looked at the assembled druids. Reclusive and secretive as they were such gatherings were rare. Most of his fellow brothers roamed the forests or protected the groves which lay far away from the Sanctuary’s main settlements. But today they had all come together to decide whether a Guardian from the Starwood Strand should be allowed to settle down here. They had been divided when it came to the “Starwood Holt” with its expanding foreign flora and they were divided now. Many feared that allowing the Guardian to remain here would facilitate the spread of the Arcanist’s trees and flowers. Some even called it an “infection” and “warped”. Spirit though could see the beauty of the tall trees with their softly glowing flowers. They had hybridized with some of the local trees, creating new species which spread even farther into the forests. This troubled some but for Spirit adaptation and change were key elements of life. Stagnation meant death. Luckily, some of his brothers and sisters thought the same. Those were strange times, with the surging of the elements and the recent discovery of an ancient dragon species that had long been forgotten. Something was stirring, something primal and malicious. He could feel it. They needed strong allies and friends. And if that meant the acceptance of an Arcane Guardian into their midst then so be it. They had welcomed stranger allies. And more dangerous ones. Spirit stepped forward and the chatter stopped. As First Druid the final decision lied with him. All eyes focused on him as he walked up to the Guardian with the strangely glowing wings. He stood proud and tall; his pale pink eyes fixed on the lei in Spirit’s paws. As he raised it to put it over the Guardian’s neck, the dragon bowed down and breathed a sigh of relief. Half of the crowd cheered and clapped while the other stood silently watching with narrowed eyes.

“It was a wise decision.” Lugaidh said later that day. They had met in the “Weeping Willow”, one of the Clan’s taverns. Spirit sighed. “I’m not sure Blackberry and his followers would agree with you.” He took a sip from the cool sweet mead he had ordered for his Lord Commander and himself. Lugaidh sneered. “That ***** who got his mate killed and scared away all of his children? He has followers? They’ll come to their senses when they stay away from the mushrooms. Don’t worry. Diversity is what makes us stronger. Look at our bloodline, we have spread to all 11 flights. What does your mate say?” Spirit smiled as he thought of his mate Hope. She was tending another clutch of eggs and thus had missed the earlier gathering. “She agrees with me.” Lugaidh laughed. “Of course, she does. And so do all your Night Warrior brothers and sisters. Even the Wardens agree with you. Or so I have heard. After all, he will have to join their ranks, won’t he?” Spirit shrugged. “I don’t know. Probably. Though I don’t think Antafes is very happy about it. He doesn’t like the Starwood trees. Why should he be any more welcoming to their Warden?” Lugaidh took a sip from his cup. “Because he’ll have to answer to Fahlyn if he isn’t. And our matriarch is smart. She knows something is coming. The Arcane Holt is near the heart of the Sanctuary. If Myrostos takes it as his charge, he will die to protect it. Something like the Serthis War can never be allowed to happen again.” Spirit shuddered. He hadn’t been born when the war with Serthis tribes happened. But he knew the aftermath had been devastating. Lugaidh nudged him softly and Spirit looked to the door. Llyr had just entered the tavern. So Lugaidh had been right, the bard would sing here tonight. Spirit smiled. He loved the Skydancer’s tales and songs. There was something in his voice that could make stones weep. It was beautiful and clear. Spirit could sense a foreign magic when he sang, strange and primal. When Llyr sat down, the room went quiet. Spirit leaned back and closed his eyes. It was time to forget his worries, at least for a while.

Information
Name // Spirit

Role // Warrior/First Druid

Personality/Background // Spirit had been born with the powers of a druid, powers he inherited from his mother. But he is also a descendant of a legendary line of warriors. His parents were worried that he might be torn apart by such contrary dispositions. But Spirit embraced both, the deadly heritage of his Night Warriors ancestors as well as the ancient knowledge and powers of the mystic druids. He was born in the Forgotten Sanctuary, and decided to stay. His mother taught him the mysteries of the druids, the ancient powers he could call upon, as well as the properties of plants and fungi before she left for the seclusion of the ancient forests again. Since his father had returned to his own Clan, Lugaidh, Lord Commander of the Night Warriors in the Sanctuary, took him under his wings and trained him in combat. Many regard Tundras as docile creatures, until they see Spirit fight.
He was chosen as First Druids despite his young age. Not all were pleased with this decision since Spirit has an open mind and is rather unorthodox for a druid. He decided to not contain the Arcanist’s magic and foreign flora that spread from Adolin’s crater. When he even accepted a pair of Starwood Guardian into the Sanctuary, many were outraged. But his decision soon proofed to be beneficial and advantageous for the wellbeing of the Clan and his opponents were silenced.

Familiar // Bark
-- Role of familiar // The wizened old Dryad appeared when Spirit cracked the shell of his egg and hasn’t left his side ever since. He is his constant companion, confidant and adviser.

Mate // Hope
Spirit and Hope had fallen in love as soon as they set eyes upon each other. The small Fey is a powerful swamp witch, well-versed in the creation of potions and poisons. Most of their children decided to serve the Gladekeeper until their son was born. When an ancient ancestral dragon breed hatched from one of their eggs, some say they were blessed while others muttered, they were cursed. But Hope and Spirit love their son dearly, and are proud of their exceptional son.
