Swampgrass is the matriarch of the Lanternlight Clan and the mate of its other leader, Abyss. Her compassion is legendary; she's always ready to comfort or protect the clan's younger members, and because of this she's earned a great deal of respect and love from her clanmates. She's usually very sweet and gentle, but if her clan is in danger she's a force to be reckoned with.

As the clan's matriarch, Swampgrass is responsible for all manner of day-to-day functions around the village. She organizes foraging parties each morning - and often participates in them as well - and is also in charge of watching over the nursery, raising hatchlings, guarding the village when one of the main guards is unavailable, and comforting dragons who need it. She also serves as a healer from time to time, as she's skilled at treating minor wounds. Really, her biggest flaw is her inability to come up with good names for dragons and places!

Notably, Swampgrass is a skilled forager; this is perhaps her greatest strength aside from providing comfort and support to others. She knows which plants are safe to eat and which ones of those actually taste good, and when she's not busy she's compiling a notebook filled with diagrams and guides so the other dragons don't always have to ask her what to look for.
