Taro is the clan's foremost assassin -- or, more specifically, he is Hecuba's assassin, contracted specifically by her to go and do the things that need doing, find who or whatever needs finding, and shed the blood that needs shedding. He's... kind of a weird individual overall and he isn't very subtle; pretty much everyone knows his role in the clan hierarchy and his day job (or, night job, because what competent assassin works during the day) is no mystery.
Taro doesn't spend a lot of time with other dragons -- partly because he isn't actually with the clan much, instead being out on contract, and also partly because he simply doesn't fit in. He can't hold a conversation well, tends to focus on things that other dragons aren't interested in (or, in Mordecai's case, things that he doesn't like discussing publicly), and generally just does better taking orders and not bothering with small talk. He and Ashan share several interests, though -- mainly in the many extant ways one dragon can make another stop breathing. Ashan, for her part, can't hold a normal conversation very well either, and listening in on them is... an experience, to say the least.
Taro might also be dating Shoga. No one is sure and no one wants to be sure because ew, it's Shoga, nobody wants to think about her, let alone like that. Taro doesn't seem to understand what the big deal about her is, though. She's pretty and shy. What's the problem?
