Nihmedu

Beekeeper

"Despite everything that has happened, all that I have become, who I am has never changed."

Nihmedu was born a skydancer to a prominent clan in the Stormcatcher's realm. Growing up, he eventually moved to the Arcanist's domain, joining a flight there. His time there was spent helping raise hatchlings and when he and his mate separated he decided to move to the Hotaru clan in order to be close to his daughter. On his way there, though, he got lost in the Wispwillow Grove. Nihmedu doesn't remember that night but when he awoke his form had changed.

It took him much longer to make his way to the Hotaru clan, and when he arrived he kept out of the way of the other clan members, volunteering to tend the bees. Despite his reason for journeying there, Nihmedu found himself unable to tell his daughter who he was. It was hard enough to get used to his new form, Nihmedu having to sleep with the bees he tended in order to not fall into a torpor overnight. When it gets too cold, he sneaks into the outskirts of Arwen's lair for the warmth he finds there. The other aspect of his changed form Nihmedu struggles with is how he can suddenly control other dragons without even trying to.

The only dragon he cannot affect is Coralline, which has led to them developing a close friendship. Although he is obviously reluctant to interact with the other members of the clan, Nihmedu likes to talk with Coralline. Realizing that she tends to be more nervous in new situations, such as performing for other clans, he began accompanying her on such trips, hiding in her clothing and directing her on where to go. In return, she comes to sing for him and the bees, something he claims makes the honey sweeter.

Nihmedu has become resigned to his change. Unlike Yoru he has become accustomed to his new form and does not desire to change back, although he does want to learn how to better control his new abilities.
