A momma’s boy and gentle giant, Octavius spent most of his early life glued to Zoa’s side. While she loved her son deeply, Zoa knew that it would be in his best interests to leave her behind and explore the world for himself. Once he was old enough, the mother broke the news to her son, trying to persuade him that he would find joy in discovering the world for himself rather than following her for the rest of his life.
Eventually, Ocatvius begrudgingly agreed and set off on his own. For the first few weeks, it was miserable. He had never felt more alone in his life, and the only thing he wanted to do was swim straight back to his mother. But as the days passed, he began to miss his birthclan less and less, choosing to focus instead on the new dragons he was meeting. Like his mother, he possessed the ability to breathe underwater, so most of his interactions with land-dwelling dragons took place on the coastlines of various flight territories. Eventually he learned to follow certain rivers and estuaries inland to explore even more of the realms of Sorneith. During his travels in the Scarred Wasteland, the Guardian met another wanderer like himself: an Imperial named Kiye. The two hit it off instantly and decided to become travel partners. Although one of them traveled by land and the other by sea, this didn’t faze the duo one bit. Before long, their bond was inseparable, almost as if they’d known one another for a lifetime rather than just a few weeks. |
