A B O U T
Gifted by his deity with perfect control of absorbing, storing, and releasing electricity from his body, Graham has become the resident eccentric inventor of the clan. While Lavenza has installed a wiring system into much of the commons and most of the guest chambers for basic electrical lighting and heat, Graham is the one always studying and seeking ways to improve it. ... Even if Lavenza insists that her work isn’t in need of improving.

He’s constantly running experiments on more efficient methods of lighting, the most recent of which involving a population of the electrogenic livewire endlers that live in the immaculately constructed and maintained glass tanks forming the inner walls of his laboratory. Though some lightning clans keep the fish in glass jugs as light displays, Graham has been hard at work to find harmless ways to harness their unique connection to the Lightning element.

His laboratory endlers could be more accurately described as pets, as Graham takes incredible measures to ensure their health and safety. Perhaps he feels something of a kinship to the fish, as his hide is always humming with electrical currents, and some dragons have described touching him to be akin to licking a livewire endler. Only other Lightning dragons seem to completely avoid discomfort on contact, so he tends to spend most of his time in their company.

Somewhat living up to the stereotype of his element, Graham tends to be flashy, strong-willed, and loud. He is the sort to speak his mind without much forethought, and his regular speech is punctuated with a number of involuntary tones, words, and phrases.

His peculiar fashion sense and vocal opinions has earned him the somewhat playful ire of Bergamot. Though the two have few overlapping interests, their shared interest in innovation and experimentation have sparked a few heated debates.

He’s one of the few dragons stubborn enough to work with Lavenza. Though she has zapped him once or twice when he becomes too nosy, his ability automatically absorbs and neutralizes the current. Though the spiral would never admit it, Graham suspects she may also enjoy the company of a dragon immune to her elemental condition that keeps most other dragons at a distance. After all, he definitely does.

He has recently begun to spend time with Astrophel, an arcane dragon who seems mostly immune to the buzz of electricity under his coat. He regards it to be a bonus on top of the fact that they can converse very easily and get along well.

H I S T O R Y
Graham was hatched and raised in the Tempest Spire, spending much of his early life relentlessly studied by scientists for his rare elemental capabilities. Though his parents were rather enamored with having such a unique child who earned them a great deal of prestige in both the magical and scientific communities, Graham did not particularly enjoy passing years as a self-described lab rat.

As a hatchling, he would spend hours finding ways to escape the cold, steel buildings in search of an adventure, often climbing out of windows. During one such escape, his claws slipped and he fell headlong from one of the spires. Though his first set of flight feathers were not yet fully grown in, he managed a partial glide that softened the impact enough to leave him with a fractured tail and broken hind legs instead of a broken neck.

Though he received impeccable medical care following the accident, he retains a limp and is rarely seen without his cane. His current cane has a glass head that can be used to store excess electrical energy he can draw on in a pinch.

Graham resents many of his childhood memories, but he does admit that the lab environment has instilled within him a lifelong fascination with the sciences and with electricity. When he reached adulthood, he spent little time saying his goodbyes to his parents and siblings, seeking out a place where he would have freedom to explore and learn at his own pace.
