  A B O U T
Lavenza has her mother’s keen eye for detail but is much more mechanically minded, able to pick apart any gadget and just as easily piece it back together. Her thoughts are nearly incomprehensible to other dragons, and she rarely takes the time to explain them. This means that she usually works alone, though she doesn’t seem to mind too much.

She occasionally accepts help from Olivier, a junker who can provide her any tool or oddly-shaped scrap she may be looking for. The two have collaborated so the clan has electric lighting for the first time in their history. Lavenza also appreciates Olivier’s healthy dose of respect for her personal space.

She has a tingling magical aura that surrounds her, strong enough that any non-Lightning dragon who touches her bare-pawed at the wrong moment will receive a nasty shock. The spells engraved into her scales to cage her powerful magic are mostly effective, but she still oozes raw power that is almost tangible to magically sensitive dragons.

She has recently developed a friendship with one of her mother’s youngest and most frequent patrons, a pretty imperial named Carina. Lavenza finds herself unexpectedly eager to share her work with Carina, but is quite tongue-tied around her.

  H I S T O R Y
Lavenza is an anomaly: born with overpowering stores of Lightning and Wind magic that made her fatally ill as a child. She was unhealthy and underweight, releasing massive, random surges of magic that ravaged everything around her. Her mother did what she could, using her glass-like wings to contain the outbursts, but was helpless to do more.

She would have passed away before reaching adulthood had it not been for Ereshkigal. The priestess changed the young guardian into a spiral to help burn away her overwhelming stores of magic and etched runes into her scales that could absorb and redirect the energy away from her body. The runes must be redrawn a few times a year as Lavenza’s scales are shed to ensure they remain effective.

While she has very little conscious access to either of her elemental disciplines, her emotions can trigger small maelstroms. These can become stronger when she is close to a shed and the power of her binding runes becomes compromised. She can still sense the warring elements around her and within her, and flying in the wild power of storms brings her a measure of peace.
