Welcome to Flight Rising ! @username
Flight Rising is a wonderful website, but it can be a bit intimidating for new players with so much to do and so many different things to collect. If you have any questions, please don't be afraid to ask on the forums, our player base is known for friendliness ! Also, in forums, be sure to @username whomever you're talking to so they get notified you've posted.
To help you navigate the world of Sornieth, I've prepared a few tips and pointers:
Daily Activities:While you can spend hours doing various things across the site, there's also a few quick daily activities you can do !
Gather Items: Each day, you'll receive turns to gather in various areas. Starting out, focus on gathering food to stockpile for your dragons. Afterwards, digging and scavenging are easy ways to get small amounts of treasure. If you're lucky, you may even receive an egg which can be sold for 
200-300 gems. Here's a great guide on gathering.
Familiar Bonding: Giving your dragons a familiar and bonding with them each day awards a small amount of treasure. Reaching bonding levels awards chests, with awakening a familiar giving a golden chest. Awakening a familiar takes a long time, but it's definitely worth it !
Tending Your Nests: Over time, you'll be able to buy more nesting space and breed more dragons. Breeding, hatching, and selling dragons is a great way to make treasure.
Trading Post: Every day, some activities in the trading post refresh.
The Fairgrounds: Each day you can receive 
75,000 treasure from the Fairgrounds. It's widely accepted that the best, and quickest, method for earning treasure this way is by playing Glimmer and Gloom on hard difficulty. It takes around thirty minutes to hit the treasure limit once you get the hang of it.
Trading Post II:There are many different vendors in the Trading Post, which makes it a bit confusing for new players.
Tomo's Trivia: Refreshes daily. Players answer a set of trivia questions and receive a small amount of treasure for correct answers. Here's all of the correct answers.
Crim's Collection: Refreshes on a timer. Players can trade in a requested item for a varying amount of treasure; however, Crim is well known for giving horrendous deals.
Pinkerton's Plundered Pile: Refreshes daily, gives you a random free item.
Swipp's Swap Stand: Refreshes on a timer, offers a few items up for trade. Many of the resources needed are difficult to get, but you can use the Game Database to find out how to get them.
Roundsey's Raffle Roulette: Players purchase tickets to enter a raffle for various, often rare and retired items, prizes.- Baldwin's Bubbling Brew: Transmute materials with no other uses and receive materials, then use the materials to create new items. It takes a long time to level up and unlock new items, so be patient. Brewed items usually sell for a lot of money on the auction house !
- Galore's Glorious Gifts: Every now and then you'll receive a ping that Galore has an item for all players. Otherwise, there's no use visiting the page.
- Fiona's Fantastic Familiars: Refreshes daily. Fiona offers players eight different familiars to bond with daily, but also gives rewards for bonding with certain familiars. If you awaken the familiars she asks for, you can even receive a special version of that familiar !
- Arlo's Ancient Artifacts: Refreshes daily. Players can receive resources for their digs daily, and can dig in the various plots every ten to fifteen minutes. There's a lot of cool items in the digs, and it's pretty fast to level up !
Other Tips:
- Coliseum: The coliseum is a turn based fighting activity where dragons fight various monsters and receive rewards. There's a lot to the "Coli", but there's loads of guides in the guides section of the forums.
- Hibernal Den (Hibden): If you need more space in your lair, the hibernal den is a great way to do it. You exchange items for additional slots; however, some tasks can be really difficult.
- Exalting: At some point you'll exalt a dragon; however, please note it's site etiquette to name your dragons before exalting them.
- Site Slang: As I'm sure you've encountered, there's a lot of slang people use around Flight Rising. From abbreviations for dragon breeds (ie. skydancer = SD, imperial = imp) to talking about colors as XXX or XYY, there's a lot to learn. Here's a great guide !
- Just for Newbies: A lot of players love to support new players, especially in the Raffles and Giveaways section of the forums.
- Fancy Formatting: As a website, Flight Rising uses BBC code for post formatting. There's tons of resources available to players on how to use the format. Here's one great thread for resources, and here's one great thread for coding !
