Hellebore's Kobold companion.

Kobolds are are small reptilian creatures that occupy a wide variety of biomes within Sorienth. Although each variant has unique adaptations to their environments, they are similar enough where we feel confident they can be categorized into the same species. Kobolds look remarkably like teeny, tiny Mirrors. Adults only grow to about half the size of a standard Mirror, and hatchlings are about the size of an adult Fae. They all have stunted head crests and no leg fins.

About Aquatic Kobolds:

Aquatic Kobolds are the most common variant on Soreinth. They are categorized into two types and their colors dictate what body of water they live in. Lighter color Aquatic Kobolds are amphibius and live near lakes and reefs, using webbed feet to guide them through the water. Darker colored ones are fully aquatic, live solely in the ocean, and have adapted rudder-like tails and gills. Oddly, swamps and marshes are devoid of Aquatic Kobolds, perhaps because their territory would overlap with Jungle Kobolds, who are the stronger of the two species.

Speckle/Freckle/Scales Genes:

The mottled coloring of these Kobolds makes them perfectly camouflaged in their territory. These Kobolds are hardly ever with the actual pack, always scouting ahead to keep an eye out for prey or threats. They are the main hunters, and are constantly bringing prey back to their family, only stopping to eat alongside them before heading out again. If there is a threat, they will run back to the pack and either rally their warriors to fight it or steer the pack in another direction. Often if you are traveling through a Kobold’s territory, they will know you are there far before you are aware of them. These dragons have an uncanny sense of direction, and always know which direction is north.
