Hauki’s parents, Summerbloom and Roma, were rune crafters and scholars who joined the Archmages of the Myst Archives early on. Summerbloom was very well traveled and his connections in the Southern Icefields were strong through his mother’s side. When Misaki was almost kidnapped and it was decided they had to move the clan, it was Summerbloom who suggested the Southern Icefields. He left his mate, who was now expecting their egg, to scout out the land of ice and snow for the ideal place to move. As Summerbloom searched for their new home, Roma grew closer and closer to laying her egg. She considered following the call coatls feel to return to the Emberglow Hearth to nest but did not wish to leave only for them to move without her and her hatchling. When Summerbloom sent word back that he found their new home, the Archmages made to follow him and though Roma knew she was close she decided that she would rather risk it than be separated from her mate any longer. The flight was long and they had hardly crossed the border of the Southern Icefields when Roma couldn’t go any further. She dropped from the sky with Naru and gave birth to Hauki’s egg there and then, scrambling to put together a makeshift nest for it. The Archmages gathered around, forming a makeshift camp around the nest to protect the unhatched child of their friend. Summerbloom rushed to the border when he heard what had happened and made it in time for the miraculous hatching of his son.
