About

One of the guard force's patrol captains, along with Rapier. Stormfast's tough, no-nonsense attitude is quite the opposite of Rapier's easygoing one, so they balance each other quite well. She also serves as a combat instructor, and has taken the young centaur Katarina under her wing. When she's not on the job, Stormfast can often be found working out or practicing her boxing skills.

Story

Stormfast was formerly a high-ranking member of the Wild Hunt, a group of mercenaries based on the Snowsquall Tundra. A ruthless fighter with a famously short temper, she was well respected within the group. She strictly handled those under her command while going out on jobs herself, building up such a reputation that clients would ask for her specifically. After years of this harsh life, Stormfast found that she didn't want it anymore. She tried to cut ties with the Wild Hunt, but the other ranking members wouldn't let her go, forcing her to fight her way out. Branded a traitor and injured, Stormfast went on the run.

She hid out in the last place any Ice dragon should want to be: the Ashfall Waste. Somehow, she found herself at the Magma Sanctum, among those fluent in Fire magic. Keeping her origins hidden, Stormfast lived among the mages, watching them effortlessly control the heat that was so far from the endless cold of her homeland. She found herself drawn to the flames, and began experimenting with blending her Ice magic with Fire techniques. This yielded a strange cold fire, which she then practiced with and refined until she was as good with it as any Fire mage. Soon after, the Magmablood Rebellion broke out, leading to an influx of hired mercenaries in the Waste, including some from the Wild Hunt. One, Akuma, stopped in the Magma Sanctum and revealed Stormfast's true identity to the mages, who reluctantly cast her out.

On the run again, Stormfast flew east to Cinderslag, where she caught wind of Traveler's Rest. The workers of Cinderslag spoke of it in hushed tones, as a refuge for runaways and those without a home. Since she needed a refuge, Stormfast caught an airship headed for the Rest. Upon arrival, she went straight to the First Five and explained who she was. She was pleasantly surprised when they didn't kick her out, but instead recommended her to the guard force. She didn't fit in right away, but in time she became a respected member, even being promoted to Patrol Captain after the departure of Lieutenant.
