 MATIHERE NGATA-WHENUA ENFORCER OF THE SUB ROSE DIVISION «- - - - - - - - - - - - - ❖ - - - - - - - - - - - - -» The man that he is now is not the man that he used to be. That much he is acutely aware of, something which he takes equal part pride in and shame in. It feels like the memories of someone else now, something implanted into his mind to juxtapose the life he leads these days. He was just a simple farmer living in a community in a land just south of the Steppes: the Emerald Archipelago, sheltered by seas only traversable by those local to the area holds a half-dozen islands. Back then he was Matihere Ngata, well known for being a hard worker and being very willing to help just about anyone out. He made a name for himself with his kindness, helping others expand their houses, pick up their crops, and ferry goods back and forth. In return, the island flourished. He was very popular, everyone's uncle. At least until the skirmishes began. What was originally a disagree spiralled into outright war, and he was dragged into it- he watched as his whole community was destroyed, most of them killed and the rest scattered. This was the result for most. His kindness soured into rage, rage which he then levelled back at everyone around him before he finally gave up and left, renaming himself Mauahara, loathing. Tau picked him up several years later. He's all muscle, a large man with an intimidating presence and the kind of grating cruelty to match. The goodness in him has been crushed under heel, leaving behind someone who revels in inflicting pain, a trait that works well as an enforcer for the Sub Rosa division. He's a very blunt man who has no problem telling others what he thinks of them- which is usually very little. That being said, he does still have a soft side beneath all the grit which only a few people have ever seen.
