Grief-Stricken / Regretful
Lamont is a viking from the Thousand Current Sea who is well-known for his excursion to the Southern Icefield. He set out to chart a passage across the Frigid Floes in order to provide a shorter route to and from the main continent, but the journey was ultimately unsuccessful.
Lamont and his crew were stranded in the Southern Icefield after a savage snowstorm crushed their vessel into the surrounding glaciers. Many lives were immediately lost to the frozen waters, including Lamont's daughter, Alva. Those that survived the wreckage still had to make it out of the Frigid Floes, using rope and axes to hike their way towards the mainland of the Snowsquall Tundra. Some still fell victim to cracks in the ice.
This traumatic experience turned Lamont into a shell of his former self. Blaming himself entirely for the failed expedition, Lamont never fully recovered from the loss of his daughter. He'd always been considered a bad omen among his brethren, with a particular magic that allowed him to create smoke storms. He often used these billowing clouds as a travel marker or a forewarning of his arrival, but now all they do is shadow him in his failures, bringing along with him the smell of fire and ash.
Inside him, there are small bones
scattered in a field among burdocks and dead grass.
He will spend his life walking there,
gathering the bones together.
