Aelis is a very special dragon with very special needs. Many, upon first meeting the Veilspun, assume the first of those special needs is an exorcism.

Aelis has a habit of speaking about very morbid things with the grace and elegance of a true gentleman, discussing the macabre similar to how some nobles discuss an upcoming gathering or tea party. His voice, while pleasant to listen to, speaks of such morbid and dark subjects that most avoid him.

Aelis does not blame them. He is aware that the topics he finds fascinating may come across as grim or dreadful to most- it has certainly scared away a large number of marriage candidates.

Not that Aelis minds: in his mind, he is already happily engaged to his dear friend Daeus- a gravedigger who is so far removed from the posh and elegant life Aelis lives that it occasionally feels like the two are from completely different universes- not that the paler veilspun hasn’t tried to bridge that gap: He’d offered the dark dragon a room in his estate, and would love nothing more than to dote on the gruff dragon and spoil him.

Daeus was not impressed by the offer, and rudely rejected it before turning back to the hole he’d been digging.

Aelis understands. He understands that Daeus didn’t reject him because the darker dragon disliked him, no, it’s a matter of pride. The gravedigger can’t just live a life being pampered- it’d go against his morals. He’s a hard worker, and to just sit back and have everything handed to him… no. Not happening.

Aelis understands all of that…

...And as such teases his beloved relentlessly, never crossing any lines, but annoying the other with wordplay and offers to take him on various expensive dates.

Daeus has agreed to accompany Aelis just once.
