Toxic
Knowing too much of your future is never a good thing
Seer

Toxic has always been tormented by the sight, as his birth clan always called.

Being born with the sight is always seen as a blessing and a gift and, at the very least, no one who didn't have it ever saw it as a curse. But, of course, the key fact there is that they didn't have it. Didn't have to live with it. They never woke up in the middle of the night after having their sleep consumed by a nightmare that they knew would come true. A vision never interupted them in the middle of a basic daily task and left them incapacitated in sheer panic. Never had to walk around and see the face of a dragon you'd seen die in your sleep. And never did they have to bite their tongues in order to stop themself from spilling all the tragedies they'd seen to anyone else in a hope to prevent them because they knew that telling would only make the vision more likely to happen.

No, everyone ignored that. All they did was focus on the good. How great it must be to be prepared for the future. To know what you'd face.

They'd never know the feeling of having grown numb to the death of a loved one because you'd already seen it happen so many times before. The feeling of hating yourself for not being able to mourn properly. To despise your own mind and heart for lack of emotions.

Fed up with the way his birth clan only ever focused on how good the sight could be, Toxic left his home with bitterness in his heart. With that choice, to leave everything behind, his felt lighter. A sense of freedom in his chest.

So, he traveled for a while, living as a nomad. If he didn't settle down, didn't grow attached, he'd never have to feel that bitterness and self-hate ever again.

In fact, while living this isolated and nomadic lifestyle, he found his visions having become rarer and rarer, to the point where they were near nonexistent. And he was thankful. Thankful for the freedom finally.

Although, with this freedom, he began to feel lonely. But he was afraid of the visions coming back. Even so, he began to find himself drifting closer to lairs and clans. Sometimes, he'd even seek refuge with a clan and spend the night. However, each time, the visions would come back and he'd run. Run from those he could possibly grow attached to. Run from the visions. Run from his fate.

One day, he had fled to the Northernmost region of Sorneith, Dragonhome, and found himself wandering the dusty, rocky desert. He ended up stumbling across a territory split between three sides and arguing over succession. At first, he was tempted to leave well enough alone and continue on his way. But then he met Acal.

And Acal understood.

He understood the burden of having a curse. Of how heavily it rested on one shoulders and loomed over them for their whole lives.

How could Toxic run away from the one person he'd found that truly understood?
