Oh, yes, her mother was an agent of chaos.
Perhaps it was an effort to differentiate herself, that made Elysia into so polar opposite of a thing; an agent of order across the multiverse.

The Organization has not played into her life- not yet. Or perhaps they have; she doesn't know entirely what things are, and what are not, part of this group calling itself the Organization. Brenilde was dangerous enough, whether or not she meant to be, so it suited Elysia to leave. If that meant no more of these tales of an ancient organization that pulled the strings of fate, so much the better.
Something about turning her back on every scrap of knowledge she might have gained from her mother, regarding this purported Organization, still seemed... still reeked of misfortune in her future, but what could be done about it? Could she trust her mother, who demonstrated so little care regarding other lives, to share information that would be useful?

No, probably not. So she left for a different land.

This place she found herself in- she could practically feel the disparate time-threads that all wound through here, all the loose ends and the way time seemed to be slow-and-fast depending on which of the stories (really, they are all stories)- all of the stories she happened to investigate.
She got the sense that her mother would love it here, if only time would simply move correctly.
But- no, she shook her head, tried to focus as she walked past the dragon that stayed permanent in front of the lair. It was a place away from her mother, it was a place where she might be able to bring things back into sync with themselves. Demonstrate, to herself and to others, that she was capable of... something. Exactly what, she didn't know.

But to set things straight in time here, she had to be allowed to enter their clan- and she'd heard the name they'd given themselves, The Conspiracy of Silence, which was certainly designed to dissuade the addition of others. A conspiracy, after all, tended to be something that you didn't want to get involved with. Unless, that is, one was Elysia, and one wanted nothing more than to solve the strange goings-ons of this place. To pin together each thread and find out what the whole picture was. To bring unity, even to seal the temporal rift that must exist here... somewhere.
To let such a thing continue to exist, sending out offshoots that would need to be pruned like so many unhealthy branches, was almost certainly more danger than it was worth.

Arriving then, in this place that was displaced from time, in the beginning and in the end she arrived. Somewhere, to the west; the Conspiracy's center, the spirit of it, dwelt under the watch of the Arcanist. She found a place some distance to the east, on the mainland, under great forests of blue-violet bioluminescence. She was ready to catalyze their change, their restoration- but this was not quite the place for it, was it? In a past and place that was not quite there.

She had landed on the doorstep of a different rift.

She looked around, and saw that in the future, it would become an outpost- a village. One that was far from the clan she'd seen under the Arcanist's observatory- and one that also sat atop a rift. An anomaly smaller, and perhaps more stable, than the one that fed on and warped with the magic of a young god- this one did not feast so heavily upon the arcane magic, perhaps because it was not so near the Arcanist's Dwelling.

She put her hand into the rift, felt the magic and the light that irradiated her skin; stepped across the portal into the village, some years into the future, when it had been established for a decade or so.

A small thing, with persons and beasts alike that wandered through the streets.

Not a few hours in this present and she met a young man Edgar, who seemed all too familiar with her, when she had never met him before.

"Are you... Elysium?"
"Elysia, actually." It was a strange first meeting, if ever there was one.
She couldn't help but imagine what he would look like, if he were pulled from this world into one of the many she knew her family belonged to. "Ah. I must have... But never mind it." He pulled her along, to his home- a cluttered mess, with papers strewn about; beakers, flasks, scraps of fabric, and carved metal and wood all about. "You know my mother was a genius- I'm sure you remember her." He nodded, picking up the papers and the pieces. "I'm glad to see you finally returned. I've been here such a long time..." He turned, eyes suddenly full of... something. "Elysia?"
"Hmm?"
He looked around the room, as though trying to decide what the best way to proceed was. "You don't remember me." He shook his head, quietly. "You honestly don't remember?"
"We've... met?"
