”Ooh, I'm really pickin' up what you're puttin' down with this whole religious business. Can you tell me more?”

Uh-oh, looks like this eager learner wandered a little too far from their home lair (452562, Hyzenthlaay), and now they’re off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt them, we'd really appreciate it if you instead could just return them to their original home via the Crossroads, send them off in the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread (warning, you will get another traveler in return if you do this), or if you don’t want another traveler in return, this rest hub. You can also adopt them permanently if you don’t want them leaving your lair - just contact Hyzenthlaay and let her know (it’s good for her notes)! Many people have worked very hard on this traveling dragon, and exalting them would be an absolute shame. Please don’t do it! Miracle is, to put it bluntly, gullible. Or, well, maybe that's a little rude - he is given to belief very easily. If anyone speaks convincingly enough about their cause, or their religion, he's likely to join up with it. Convert-seekers would probably love him, if he wasn't also given to running away from the very causes he supports. Originally written by @Hyzenthlaay, lore shop here. Volrin, The Purified Temple, 10/01/2020
Miracle's first venture brought him to the Sunbeam Ruins, where he settled in nicely with a clan living in a temple on the outskirts of the Hewn City. He was disappointed to find that these dragons didn't have much for religious beliefs, and little else for practices that he could join in with.
However, there was one story they would tell that Miracle picked up on. Long ago, an incredible healer had come through their clan and used her powers of purification to cure their leader's sickly mate of his Shade corruption, and then together, the Fae leader and the healer combined their strengths to free this temple from the Shade-based murk that encompassed it. They called their home The Purified Temple because it, too, had been purified of its Shade influence.
The story spurred something in Miracle, as fables and tales often did for him. It inspired him to dedicate himself to learning about the Shade, and maybe even find a way to dispell its influence as well.
...
It wasn't very long into his stay that Miracle was planning to pack his belongings and head out on another adventure, when he was suddenly approached by a gorgeous Tundra named Starberry. She had been pining for him from afar for some time now, and she wanted to finally come clean and admit her crush on him. The confession influenced Miracle to extend his stay for a bit longer -- long enough for their relationship to grow stronger and stronger, the weeks turning into months, until they finally decided to nest together.
Unfortunately, their relationship ended in tragedy. Miracle and Starberry had not talked much about what they would do after their eggs had hatched -- Starberry had assumed Miracle would be staying in her clan, while the Guardian had assumed his mate understood his need to continue his search for something to believe in.
Frankly, Starberry was insulted. "You need something to believe in?! Look at our home, look at our hatchlings. Look at your family. Are we not enough for you?" Her voice cracked then, a miserable thing, and her face crumpled. "Are we not enough for you...?"
Miracle shook his head solemnly, his eyes wide and apologetic as he gazed at his Tundra mate. "Star, that isn't it. I just... I want to believe in something greater. Greater than this. I want to have faith..."
Gently, Star took her mate's clawed hand in her fluffy paws. "Then please... all I ask is that you have faith in us."
...
Miracle stayed for a time after this, but he could tell he had created an unfixeable rift between him and Star when he had expressed his desire to leave. He stayed for her as long as he could, and he tried to make things work, but Star only continued to withdraw from him -- unwittingly pushing him away. Despairing and broken, Miracle left in the night, no longer feeling welcome in her presence like he once had.
hyzenthlaay, Clan Mavenlark, 10/01/2020
Somewhat shamed from the talking-to he had received from his previous mate, and too nervous to even attempt to patch things up for fear of shattering it more, the guardian found themselves right back where they had started - Clan Mavenlark. He had fled here originally when he decided to pursue his future, but arriving back here felt less like a declaration of freedom and more of a personal failure.

Gen 6 Gengyar >> Nueclia >> Pythia >> Greenhouse >> Reef >> CapouchesGrande >> Miracle (you are here) If you ever breed him, please offer any hatchlings in this thread! Project Ugly wrote:
This project is to, basically, give [Gengyar] a giant lineage. Just because he's ugly doesn't mean his children will be! I want him to have a mostly, if not totally, unexalted lineage because IT IS AN HONOR TO BE THE SON OR DAUGHTER OF A LEGENDARILY UGLY DRAGON.
