Her eyes were closed, but she could still feel the movement of the water with her two long whiskers...there was a large fish nearby, coming closer to where she lay still amongst a bed of coral. The smaller fish were already swimming around her, taking no notice of the still form. Just mouthfulls. Not worth the energy to bring back to the shore and to the clan. Yet this other one...

It swam even closer, quite slowly, and did not notice the small amount of bubbles released from Wagnertuben's nostrils. Finally, it was just above the Pearlcatcher, swimming between the poisonous spines that were part of her "wings" (as Lionfish dragons did not have the skin between the "wing" fingers, instead acting like pins harboring deadly poisons at the tips that could kill or paralyze). With the speed of a shark, she lunged, piercing its side with one of her spines, grabbing the fish by its midsection, and finally dragging it to the surface.

The large fish was actually a swordfish, making its hefty body difficult to throw into her boat on the surface. Still, she managed it using her momentum that she had to draw herself out of the water. It took up most of the space in the boat, causing her to have to perch on its body.

Her eyes lingered over her catch hungrily. It would make a fine feast for her clanmates!...and for herself too. There was no need to continue fishing for anything more today.

Rather than waste any more time out in the open water, she jumped back into the sea and attached the harness to herself. It allowed her to drag the boat in a faster manner than paddling, as she was adept to swim (another strength of Lionfish dragons).

Soon, the boat with the paralyzed swordfish was moving swiftly over the ocean's waves and heading to the shore. The clan would soon see Wagnertuben's immense skills as a fisher once more, and she would appreciate enjoying the swordfish in a feast alongside them.
