Biography

{kitty coming soon}

Spirit is the leader of Sanctuary, a safe haven for dragons of all kinds. She chose to make her den on the Reclaimer's Glacier, not because of the challenge of settling there or the wild beauty for the frozen wilderness, but because of all the dragons who went missing there every year. She wanted to save dragons, protect them, provide a peaceful, welcoming home. If a dragon enters the Southern Icefields on a journey, they will almost certainly find their way to the Reclaimer's Glacier at some point. Some come to explore, others come to find a place they belong; still others seek refuge. Not all come willingly, as sudden snowstorms often crisscross the Icefields. However they came to her, all are welcomed by Spirit. She goes out after every storm to find those who might've been lost and rescue them. After tending to whatever injuries they may have, she offers them the option to stay in her clan as long as they want. Most move on quickly, but some stay because of the welcoming community she has built, a strange phenomenon in the harsh Icefields.

Ever since Spirit was a hatchling, she lived in the Fortress of Ends - not as a prisoner, and not because she'd been exalted, but because her parents had been, and it was her entire life. When she grew up, she became a messenger for the Icewarden, carrying messages long distances across snowy tundras, mountain ranges, forests, deserts, rivers, and ruins, to all corners of Sornieth. Despite her small size, she was the swiftest and most reliable messenger, and so was sent out more often, leading to some... interesting encounters.

On one of her trips, she ran into some trouble with a flight of Miths. She accidentally disturbed them, and their brightly colored wings as they fluttered in alarm blinded and confused her. In a panic, she dove downwards - and flew directly into a large Mith, who flared its wings and screeched at her. Suddenly, a dragon's growl sounded close by, and the whole flight took to the skies.
When they were gone, Spirit saw an Imperial looking at her curiously. She thanked him for his kindness, and was about to continue, but he stopped her, warning her that it would be dark soon. That part of Sornieth was filled with creatures at night, so she decided to stick with the Imperial for a while. The two continued going on trips together after this; the Imperial, whose name was Kyromis, was an excellent warrior and helped Spirit stay safe.

A few years later, the two came across a group of dragons on the edge of the Starfall Isles. All of them were outcasts in one way or another. Despite this, they had banded together and were now thriving, some of the most welcoming dragons she'd ever met. Most of these dragons had been exiled for no fault of their own; yet here they were, left out of a normal community. This bugged her for several days, but she couldn't quite figure out why. However, Kyromis seemed to know what she was thinking. He suggested she make a sanctuary, a safe place for dragons of all kinds. Spirit knew immediately this was the solution. But... she couldn't think of how to make it work. It couldn't be at the Fortress of Ends, that was for sure. But that was her home, the only place she'd ever known.
Regardless, she began drawing up plans for her sanctuary that night, with the help of Kyromis. As the idea took shape, she knew where she'd put it: the Reclaimer's Glacier. Kyromis was unsure of this, since so many dragons had disappeared there in the past, but Spirit was sure of it. What better place to put a sanctuary? It would be a place for dragons to heal, a place for them to reclaim their lives, no matter where they'd come from. Spirit could tell her friend wasn't convinced, but he let it go, urging her to get some rest.

The next morning, they began the trip back to the Southern Icefields. When they arrived, Kyromis left to find another warrior to help gather the food needed to sustain the sanctuary while Spirit went to ask the Icewarden for his help. He agreed to donate some supplies, noting that many exalted dragons were lost to him in the harsh, icy land.

By the time Kyromis returned with Destyon, a Mirror, Spirit had already found an extensive system of caverns in the Reclaimer's Glacier and divided it into several sections to allow for expansion. The next step was stocking the den with food and building a large fireplace, for dragons to gather around in the cold winter nights. The little Fae was thrilled to see her dream becoming reality before her eyes.

After a month or two of building, Sanctuary was complete. A few dragons had already joined the small group; blown in by storms, they had been nursed back to full health, and some had decided to stay. A small conflict arose early on; a group of Plague dragons had made their home nearby. They called themselves the Plaguelings, and they were a warrior band. However, after a meeting with the leaders of the clan, sisters Wryth and Andromeda, an agreement was made. The two groups left each other alone for the most part, and the Plaguelings directed non-Plague dragons to Sanctuary, while Spirit told potential Plaguelings about the other group.

Spirit is kept constantly busy with the demands of running Sanctuary, but she still makes time to hang out with Kyromis, especially when she feels stressed or overworked. Sanctuary has expanded a lot, which makes managing the upkeep of dens and such very hard. However, a team of builders and inventors has formed, leaving her free to tend to new arrivals and build the community she's always wanted.
