A little rogue that prefers flight to fight, Yawanuri was something of an outcast in his youth. He left his home early and lived on his own for years, moving from place to place guided by his need for food, until he befriended the first clan leader, Hecuba. Since then, he has watched several dragons lead and leave the clan; although he was the eldest of his clanmates after Hecuba chose to be exalted, he has never had interest in leading the group. He is a standoffish professor, but a good teacher if he can be compelled to put in the effort.
Yawanuri spends his time indoors, reading and studying, or indulging his other hobbies such as drawing and scribework. He sometimes gets so enthralled in what he's doing that he forgets to sleep, and can be found passed out in strange places or, at best, across his desk. He prefers to do his independent studying alone, but he makes an exception for his favored apprentice, Mestra, who loves to observe and aid him in his work.
Yawanuri is also one of the few dragons to witness someone return from exaltation -- because Hecuba came back from the Flamecaller. Though they were once close friends, their relationship has been more distant since her return; he believes something about her has changed. There's something... dangerous about her, now.
