Biography
OTP no.1
(Dragon version of Princess Marina of Issandar)
Princess Marina was the last of 7 daughters born to the king of the underwater kingdom of Issandar. She was born without lovely colors like the rest of her royal family, and instead she held only two shades of blue on her tail, as well as singular colored eyes and hair. She was born small, and frail.
Though her mother took care of her until her sad death, she was left without anyone to care for her. Her royal family refused her and instead gave her to the servants to raise and care for. They taught her to work and clean and to serve the royals. Sadly Marina was never seen as a princess, though she was one by birthright. She was often alone, save for her handmaiden friends and adopted family. But even they could not replace the love she had lost with her mother, nor a fatherly figure to help her cope with her own father's rejection, neglect and sometimes cruelty.
She would live her years trying to read and explore outside the palace, but she was too swamped with work to even touch up her appearance. She worried, as her sisters all begun to be courted by other princes, that she would never marry, or even escape her life of endless selflessness. Until Prince Lamar came and seemed to take a very deep interest in her.
Lamar didn't think she was a princess, and yet he treated her like a goddess, like a gentle spirit. Marina was not accustomed to such kindness and favor, and she was at first very much afraid of him being so much larger than even an average gillman. Still, he seemed only devoted to not only her, but to the time he spent with her, albeit brief visits. On a whim, and sick of her turmoil and position of powerlessness in her own home, she agreed to marry him. She didn't care that Lamar was running away from his home kingdom, his family, and his destiny. They had that in common.
And though only a simple mermaiden, Marina let her new husband and sacred prince whisk them both away to live in peace, on a remote island hidden from the eyes of gill and mer-folk. There they would stay together, in the hopes of remaining safe and happy for the rest of their lives.
