Name translates to "bleed spirit peace" in Dovah. Could perhaps be transcribed as "Bleeding Spirit of Peace".

A lore idea based on that: In order for there to be peace, there must be suffering elsewhere.
Sosaal was dedicated in life to easing the pain and suffering of others. So dedicated in fact, that she gave her life to save a stranger's.
The stranger turned out to be an old witch, who was banished from her flight for practicing forbidden magics and now lived alone in the Tangled Wood.
As a way of thanking the youth who sacrificed her life to spare the elder's "sad crusty hide" from the trip to whatever lies beyond, she separated Sosaal's spirit from her mangled body and cast a spell to allow the young dragon to continue her life in spirit form.
Sosaal continued her mission, now free of the limits a physical form had on her. No matter how much phantom pain she's endured, blood that never stops flowing from unseen wounds, or heartache that plagued her.. she's never felt so alive.
