he finds mikado and tenno wandering through the poorer areas of light’s edge, in edenfall. he first thinks they are family- they are so set in each others patterns he can only image they have known each other at birth. it seems for every shortcoming of mikado, dropping flowers and quiet nods, tenno is there to pick flowers up and fill the silence. every time tenno has to stop to free his familiar or mend his battle torn wings, she’s holding a knife to cut the ropes and spider bandages to bring his wings to heal.
as he approaches them, well aware they are strangers to the ways of edenfall, boon realized they would be no easy target. it seems the moment he lifts his head in their direction mikado is already staring at him, and her younger follower is tracing her gaze. one gaze fills him with fear, and her gaze fills him with a wariness he’s never experienced before. he knows the young one would do anything to protect her, and boon knows she would not stop the male pearlcatcher from tearing his wings apart and wearing them as a cloak.

he decides to join them instead.
