Nara the Necromancer

I. Nara comes from a long line of necromancers and assassins. Her mother was a powerful necromancer, able to control and communicate with the dead, while her father was an infamous assassin, hired to kill a dragon's worst enemy. Their children uphold their legacy, each becoming a skilled killer or sorcerer of their own. Along with her siblings, Nara began to hone her powers and skills when she was just a hatchling. Although Nara did not inherit her mother's powers, she still learned various important skills from both parents, such as how to stay hidden by manipulating the shadows or how to identify different kinds of poisons.

Once they are of age, the dragons must decide a path: to follow their mother in the arts of necromancy, or to become a dangerous warrior or assassin like their father. Then, once they receive enough training and are deemed worthy, the children are sent across Sornieth... with various hidden intentions.

Because Nara did not inherit necromancy powers, she focused her training on the art of killing and spent her free time learning from her father. Nara was a skilled assassin, but to her father she was always just not good enough. To her father, Nara was "not as talented as her sister Zara." She had lived in her sister's shadow for years. Her entire life was spent being compared to her siblings and being pushed to be the absolute best. Nara felt that she could never meet her parents' expectations, so she gave up satisfying her father a long time ago. Now she only trains to satisfy herself. She accepted the fact that she will never be better than her sister or receive the same love from their parents just because she wasn't as skilled.

II. However, one day, things went too far. Her father saw that Nara had lost her ambition to rise to the top. In an attempt to restore that drive, he set up a cunning ploy. He sent Nara on a mission to kill a certain dragon. The target's identity was not revealed to Nara until her knife was on her sister's throat. The horrible and shocking realization angered Nara terribly. She could live with not being as good as her sister, but she could not tolerate endangering her sister's life for the sake of being the best. Her sister was harmed in an attempt to restore her ambition and that was something Nara could not allow. She had crippled her sister, preventing Zara from becoming the great assassin she was destined to be. Nara was plagued with guilt, blaming herself for her sister's downfall. No matter how much she was jealous of her sister, Nara would never wish harm upon her.
After this ordeal, Nara decided to run away. She could not live in a place where she was suffocating anymore. Nara was determined to find a place where she would be accepted for who she was, a place where she didn't have to fight - or kill - anyone to become the best or prove that she is skilled. She could not bear the thought of practically ending her sister's life. So, with nothing but a small satchel, she escaped under the shadows of the night in search of a new home, of freedom.

III. After running away, Nara came upon the Moonlit Waves, especially Jupiter. His powers of necromancer outshone even those of Nara's family, and she was impressed by his power. She begged for Jupiter to train her, and he did so. After she finished her training underneath him, she was introduced to Lycus, a healer. Although originally scornful of Lycus, Nara eventually fell in love with his charm and wit.
